blogging about something you don't know

You can, just read up on it. You could even blog that you don't know anything and blog your new findings..

I don't know, but number one rule for me, work to live, if you choose a topic you are not interested, at least a topic that's worth of learning. Learn something always, don't waste your life. Forgive me if it hurts.

I tried this method.

I had no clue about this particular tool. I met a friend who is a pro about it. He uses the tool and thats it. He has never given a through about making a blog about it. So I thought of doing that I started spending more time with him and learning about it day by day. I created notes. and I started creating blog posts about whatever is new to me. It actually worked and the blog is making progress now.

you can try to find interest for the topic and write some content and it will work for you, otherwise write a blog on a subject you're passionate about
