Blackhat vs Whitehat — How Do You See the Difference?

I was chatting with a few people the other day, and it struck me how differently we all define “blackhat” and “whitehat” in the world of marketing and making money online. For some, blackhat means outright breaking the rules or using cloaking, fake identities, or bots, while for others, it’s just anything that pushes the boundaries, even if it technically still “works.” Meanwhile, whitehat gets thrown around a lot, but some people seem to think it’s just a slower way to make money, while others see it as the only sustainable long-term path.

Personally, I think the line is getting blurrier than ever, especially with platforms tightening up their policies and algorithms getting smarter. Some tactics that were considered normal a few years ago might be labeled blackhat now, even if they’re not malicious.

Curious how you all see it. Where do you draw the line between blackhat and whitehat? Is there really such a clean split anymore, or is everything just shades of grey?

It' pretty simple, anything that breaks the T&C, TOS but not the Law is blackhat. Anything that don't break any of them is whitehat.
