I would love a BHW toolbar to search the forums with. I find I spend most of

my time reading threads that 'catch' my eye and not the threads where I am

actually searching for information.

A little inconspicuous toolbar at the top of my browser would be good for me.

Do you agreez?:)

Why whole toolbar, why not just search box? (so that no space is wasted.. unless there really should be space for much more options?)

the only problem is that such a toolbar will stuff you until there is no room on a C: drive :)

sorry to hi jack but i need a toolbar for my site actually a digg style toolbar if anyone passing through the thread that can help drop me a pm

this is unforgivable :)

I understand your suggestion and propose a deeper question - why is the search box so useless? Even when I add quotes around my search query it doesn't return anything even remotely relevant. I've noticed this on other forums too. Must be a fundamental flaw in BB software. I would think it would be something that would have been addressed years ago though...

Am I missing something?

With some quick searching I was able to find this:
Url Describes the URL or URLs to use for the search. The method attribute indicates whether to use a GET or POST request to fetch the result. The template attribute indicates the base URL for the search query.

The search function here does lack just a bit and sometimes will not even work at all for me.
The best way that I have found to find something specific on BHW is to use this search in google.
Code:
site:blackhatworld.com "what you are searching for"
you can do this with or without the quotation marks. The quotes will make the search more targeted for your specific search query.

that's how I find stuff on here it works much better than the search function.

Been using this searching method for awhile now.. But sometimes, I use the regular search bar :D

Don't know if anyone has noticed but the search function works
WAAAAAAAAY
better than it has in the past! YAY!

At least advanced the advanced search which I always use.

One big caveat FYI however is that it will NOT find anything
enclosed in [braces].

So if you want your post titles to come up in a search
don't use braces.

HTH .... :cool2:
