    Hi To all Friends

    Its been observed that Bing usually has low indexing compare to yahoo and google cause of its crawler issue.
    However there are websites that has more indexing in bing rather than Google.
    for example see the indexing of target.com in bing and in google

    So can any body comment over what can be the factors for high indexing in Bing?
    Or what special thing is target.com is doing for such heavy indexing in bing?

    Bing has always run their own crawlers WAY different than google or yahoo. Yahoo and google both run their spiders virtually the same way, looking for the same things, etc.

    Bing looks for different content relation than the other two and has ALWAYS been off on its own in results. In ranking, I focus on google, yahoo and ask rankings for keyword position in natural search results. I always rank for Bing as well but it NEVER matches up. I will be on page 1 for google and yahoo but for the same keyword in Bing, I will find the link on page 2...and vice versa as well.

    It is the call of the wild over at microsoft and they have always done things ' differently ' than everyone else. Don't sweat it and worry about google and yahoo, as they are the MOST commonly used.

    What about the fact that Bing is taking over Yahoo Search by the beginning of next year. I think we can't just ignore them anymore. As I have been advertising in MSN ad center on Bing, I have been getting emails from them discussing this. Yahoo is failing. We all know it is a matter of time. Google could not get them so now Bing is in a good position to get them.

    I am concerned because I have great rankings in Yahoo and poor rankings in Bing.

    Doubtful, as at&t bought yahoo out in their media network takeover that ran from 2001-2009. The bought out SBC, which owned dishnetwork and yahoo. They bought out Cingular wireless as well. They have a complete cell/satelite/phone/dsl and dialup internet network. They won't sell out to anyone because they have turned the sbc yellow pages into the at&t yellowpage/yellowbook.com. They are talking about changing yahoo around next year...they have their claws into everything. Don't EVER think they are going away.

    As for Bing jumping them, Bing has their head so far up their own butts in advertising and campaign testing their modular add-ons such as mashup mapping and such, that yahoo and yellowbook.com already have and have had for a few years now...It is a microsoft multi-media testing ground with bing right now.

    They aren't even dry gtom being out of their shell. I keep a constant watch on them and they will be something to notice in afew more years but nothing more than msn has always been, 3rd place.

    @aftershock2020

    we are not talking bout ranking but indexing. Google And yahoo has huge indexing of my website but Bing has index only 60 thousand pages which is way too low when compare to 10 million pages indexing in Google. Also Its expected that a the end of 2010 Yahoo will be powered by bing Search Engine so neglecting it will do no good to you.

    @billybunter
    Its just 10% right now but consider that at the end of 2010 bing will be default search engine at Yahoo. Plus Apple is also considering to make Bing its default Search Engine.

    so adding Yahoo 15% and Bing current 10% it will become 25% plus Apple and continuously increasing share of Bing itself month by month.

    :)

    The portions roughly fill out to this:
    60% Google
    25% Yahoo
    10% Bing
    5% Other (including search plugins that use google with their adverts on the pages

    Bing is going to become bigger but not as big as google.

    I have a brand new domain which has around 8,500 pages. I started building links to it a month ago, so far I got 355 pages indexed by google, 750 pages indexed by yahoo and 1 page (homepage) indexed by bing.

    Bing is very easy to get indexed in with new sites. In my experience, all you need to do is get a little initial traffic to websites. This can be done very easily
