An employer can pay an employee who does not have a NI number. They are placed on an emergency tax code until the NI number comes through. As long as you have a legal right to work in the UK (which EU citizens have for years to come), then it's not an issue.

I think this is purely an administrative exercise rather than an exam. Once you have a NI number, you are able to claim benefits so I think the job centres just need to make sure you're there to work rather than just claim benefits.

A £22K salary is 50% increase on minimum wage here in the UK. As far as I can tell, the only real qualifier that BHW are asking for is hard work and dedication.

You won't get a job that's offering so much, both in terms of actual salary and learning opportunity, and asking for so little. It's a wonderful opportunity.

Apricot, do you use an employment law service?

We use a service currently for our 20 employees that is fantastic, I don't have to worry about any of the employment laws - it takes away such a headache.

If this was home based instead of office based it would be perfect .. Already spending 10-12h on BHW daily, getting paid for it doesn't seems like a bad idea

But good luck to all applicants, and FYI there are a lot more perks to being a BHW mod than whats mentioned here..
