Have you heard the saying 'too many chefs can spoil the broth'

I like the idea behind what you are trying to do but i dont think its something that will e able to progress very far unless you are willing to put money in

Which is why I call it an 'effort'.
You could be right, could be not. I know that I am gunning at a keyword that would normally be unimaginable to rank high. If I am to believe the page where I found it, we could be talking about millions before your even ranked there.

Anyhow, when I look at some of our members here, they just have crazy experience. I believe combined we could get VERY far. I am always there to update, tweak and work on things / learn new things. If I get the right backup from some members, I believe we can come very far.

I am very much convinced we can have a real go for it.

Well i wish you the best as i cant offer much more than that.. please do share some of the good techniques once you become more learnered.

If you dont rank it should still be a very good learning experience.. maybe there wil be much benefit you could provide back to the BHW community
 
OP, so you haven't bought a Domain or Hosting and want people to help rank the site?

Why would people do this?

Surely people would just take your keyword and rank a site for themselves.

Why would somebody who can rank a site do it for somebody else unless they were paid to do so?
 
I set this up to get a high rank in an almost impossible to rank keyword as a BHW challenge. Whether you support it or dislike it, it is ment as a community project.

Yes, but the top SEO'ers on BHW have nothing to prove, they are too busy ranking sites.
Who is going to pay for the required services to rank?
Once you start throwing random services/links at the site, you have no way of knowing which services are helping and which are hurting the site.
People aren't going to donate, to rank a site just to prove it can be done.
It might be better to do this as a JV, request somebody to work on content, somebody else working on design, others building links. Then if you can rank it you share the proceeds or flip the site.
 
I do very much appreciate your thinking along and preventing a waste of my time. Do you happen to have any idea which would be a fun BHW project this site could use?
 
I also have to admit I haven't been active on this site for that long and I haven't seen it come along, so excuse me for being inexperienced.

as soon as you get the first backlinks or posting affiliate links on their it will be gone.

and the 1% of the trials that do work, they milk it.
