BEST Website I´ve ever seen

I was researching something for school and found this website:

The overall design of the Website looks crazy good in my opinion and their content is also really good.
According to similar web they get only 140k visits/month and almost nothing (16%) by organic search.
I dont understand google here, It has way better content + design than other websites with this search term but they rank only on the second site as number 12.

I´m so lucky that I found that website because I´m using duckduckgo

i dont know what i expected when i clicked the link but it looks like a generic news site nothing impressive and it loads kind of slow..

Don't see anything that catches my eye, except for an annoying book add that popped up on my phone screen.
Maybe the fact that I dont understand the language also has an effect.

I really don't get this post, what are you trying to accomplish? Do you want us to explain why it is not ranking?
 
Not a bad news site.

Loading could be slow due to very high resolution images
 
you know how the most converting landing pages almost always look like shit, maybe its the same with websites; that green ugly shit ranked first since people prefer to use that while the cool one is just getting by.
 
Its ugly af :)

And even then google cant see the design anyway, so this thread is kinda pointless.
 
It's not the best looking site I have ever seen, but I am studying German and I am always looking out for new resources, so thanks for that :)
 
Basically just a good WordPress theme.

Only designs that have caught my eye recently is websites such as Samsungs and others with the same format. Becoming a bit of a trend.
 
A regular news site. Which has flaws. There's nothing special about it,bro
