    Hi there,

I own a little online pharmacy website based on woocommerce, and I'd like to accept bitcoin payments.

I never used bitcoin before, and I wanted to know if there is a risk to see my money frozen like it happen with Paypal or Payoneer ?

    Any plugin to recommend ?

    Thanks

If you have proper documents about your business then there is no need to worry. Change you PayPal in business account and submit all documents and you will never get any ban or frozen

You realise that Visa/Mastercard are very very strict about online pharmacies?

Just google woocommerce bitcoin. There are a lot of plugins. No one can freeze your bitcoins. All you have to do is create a wallet where you will hold your money. I used blockchain.info wallet and never had any problems.

I was responding to Gloria. Anyone looking to sell pharma should be very very careful when using pretty much every online payment operator and card merchant.

Don't think you can accept any online payment solution atall.. drug is much much more regulated than other products. The way genuine online shops do it these days (according to what I have seen) is cash on delivery.

Edit: oh btw if you are talking bout accepting crypto currency, thats not gonna freeze or anything, but then.. you could end up in jail!! So be careful.

    No worries at all.

If you want to know why no one accepts unlicensed pharma, it's because the DoJ in the US has a long track record of heavily fining any company involved in unlicenced pharma. Google got penalised very heavily for accepting adverts from Canadian pharmacies who were selling to US customers.

thank you for the advice, I'm a really little fish and not basred in US, so I don't think jail is waiting for me. I never used cash on delivery as it seems very expensive when international payment is involved.

Ofcourse it is. Think differently. What these businesses do is tie up with the local pharma shops. They also hire a full time doctor who will make a prescription for customers if needed. ;)

    Hope that makes sense.

Back in 2011, Google agreed to pay the DoJ $500m it generated in advert sales - https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/goog...e-ads-prescription-drug-sales-canadian-online and https://www.washingtonpost.com/blog...-pharmacy-ads/2011/08/24/gIQAH9tPbJ_blog.html

In 2013, UPS ended up forfeiting $40m it had generated from illegal pharmacy sales http://www.reuters.com/article/net-us-ups-pharmacies-settlement-idUSBRE92S0DX20130329

All the major cards and advertisers are part of CSIP (https://safemedsonline.org/who-we-are/members/) which is supposed to protect people from unlicenced internet pharmacies. I guess CSIP's definition of an unlicenced internet pharmacy is one that sells to US customers, without a FDA/State licence.
