Avoiding the military

Sometimes in life you don't have a choice. Those things that you have to do normally end up doing you good.

So if you can't get out of it, just try and take something good from the experience.

In my country, some guys grow " boobs " to avoid getting drafted into the military. Maybe you want to try that. JK (but the first part is true though)

Just go do your bid. Hope Brazil gets in a war. You can then have the great opportunity to carry bullets in your body for the rest of your life, and the experience of doing things and going places that you cannot speak of or acknowledge 30 years later.

Or you could cut one of your toes off.

There 's a difference between going to the army as a job and getting dragged there to "serve".

There are men who build their future and men who follow the winds. Adulthood doesn't mean being a sheep.

So why dont you bless us with your divine wisdom on the other two points I made?

Just man up and do it. I served for 7 years and deployed to 2 different combat zones. I didnt get killed a single time. I've generated a few million dollars doing fulltime IM (before it was even called IM) in the 17 years since serving. There is life after military service.

You say you left elementary school to do business, and it's working well. But you dont have $1000 to spend to keep from serving. So ask yourself, how well is your business really doing?

You say you just dont want to do it. But you dont want to be criminal or leave your country or not be allowed back in. We call this, being immature. Serve your country, or pay $1000, or GTFO and stay out.

And welcome to adulthood, kid. You're going to be doing a lot of things in your life even if you 'dont want to'.
Woah. This might just be the douchiest post I've ever seen on this forum.

Okay, first of all, no one cares about the size of your dick. Bragging about your military/IM career does absolutely nothing to help further your point. All it does is make you look like a pretentious asshole who hates anyone who doesn't want to waste the best years of their life "serving" their government. Just because serving 7 years in the military and blah blah blah made you feel like more of a man, doesn't mean everyone else has to enjoy that meaningless B.S. Some people are followers, and some people like to have a mind of their own and make their own choices. You clearly fall into the former category. Not that there's anything particularly wrong with that, but trying to enforce your love for conformity by pressuring other people into serving and claiming they are less of a man by doing so is just plain retarded. Sorry, but it is. I my opinion, he is more of a man by standing up for his own views and opinions than you were for serving in the military because you thought it would make you more of an adult. And now, you go around telling people they're "kids" and giving them life lessons, as if your older age has actually given you wisdom. "You're going to be doing a lot of things in your life even if you 'dont want to'" - Is that your pathetic attempt at justifying the draft? Just because it's true that life often forces you to do stuff that you don't want to doesn't mean it's a good thing. You need to seriously re-think your views on life. And by the way, I'm absolutely enthralled that you didn't "get killed a single time," but in case you weren't aware, plenty of other people have actually died in combat (no way, right?). Also, what the hell is up with you calling him "immature" for being indecisive? If you've never had indecision in your life, then I must say, you've either had a very easy life, or you're certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed. And your cute little demand for him to "man up or GTFO" just shows how immature you really are.

/rant

Anyways, OP, best of luck to you, and I hope you do find a way to avoid getting drafted. I have little experience in this subject, but I sincerely hope you find a way out :)

You're damn lucky to even be able to pay $1000 to not go.

That's not an option here.

Even if you avoid it and do get fined, you'll still have to go (unless you've avoided it for approx 10 years, they only take ages 18-28)

Military teaches you discipline, which is the first thing you need to off start with IM.

Military is where stupid people go to become even more stupid. Is like the university of stupid. I realize some people here might have served in the military or even have a military career but i stand my position on this. You MUST be stupid to fucking go and enroll as volunteer or allow yourself to get enrolled into a system who's main purpose is to KILL PEOPLE. If you're going to give me the "defend the country and loved ones" speech better skip it or you will prove me beyond any doubt you are in fact stupid. As a matter of fact I have more respect for mercenaries who do this as a job and they are not delusional to think this is something good or they're serving the greater good. If you go and kill people because you like that at least you make it as a choice for what it is not for the BS you're being fed.

The environment in the military is so fucked up that even if you're not completely retarded and brainwashed to start with, you will end up like that due to peer pressure and the crap they fed into your mind. If you're unlucky enough to actually ever go to a war zone you will see it's not like in the movies. There are no heroes. Just stupid folks that die and stupid folks that survive and have nightmares or at least a fucked up life from then on. Why? Because you allowed somebody to make decisions for you and you gave him your life and your mind. And for what? So they can make the world a worse place by spreading death, pain and hate even further.

To the question of how you skip military. In any way you can, preferably the easiest one. There are lots of people in your country who did it. Ask around for specifics. In most cases bribes work well. Certain medical conditions work too and some of them you can fake. If you're really serious about finding a way, you will find it.
What country are you from?

It's mandatory in my country, I have to go to the military service for 6 months. Fuck this shit.

Yep, this is exactly what I was going to say.

The military is for poor, stupid, vulnerable people. I go into a lot of households for a living and I've met a lot of families where both parents were in the military. The parents are always radical nationalistic psychopaths. And I live in America where we don't have a draft.

It DOES teach people discipline and respect for authority. The problem is you can learn the same things going to prison.
And the bigger problem is the military brainwashes people to kill other people. They teach you how to shoot "targets" without viewing them as actual people. It basically turns people into homicidal / psychopathic killers.

In America, 24% of all domestic violence cases are caused by men & women in the military. THINK ABOUT THAT REALLY HARD. If nobody joined the military, 24% of domestic violence cases would stop. What would also stop is all these men coming back fucked in the head with PTSD. Then they go get drunk at a bar and shoot a stranger cause he looked at his wife the wrong way.

Heres a fun story -

Many years ago, we had a SERIOUS problem with recruiters walking around our neighborhoods, into stores, dressed in camouflage and going INTO THESE STORES to RECRUIT young, vulnerable kids WHILE THEY WERE WORKING. This shit made me furious and I was around 22 at the time so they would try to recruit me too. They'd hand out these little pamphlets then come back over and over to the same stores trying to get the same people to sign up.

So eventually what I did was me & my friend made some pamphlets of our own. We figured "if these assholes can approach kids while they're working to speak to them about joining the military and all the benefits of it... then we can SURE AS HELL follow these guys around with our own pamphlets that talk about all the fucked up shit the military does to people".

When I'd get off work, me and a friend would follow these 2 guys around EVERYWHERE they went. Everytime they handed out a pamphlet or tried to start a conversation inside a store, we'd hand out our pamphlets to the same people then start referencing cases of innocent bombings, ptsd, domestic violence, how war vets are treated in America, etc etc. These recruiters HATED US and the funny part is they couldn't really argue with us or raise their voices (they know they'd get kicked out). So eventually these guys got smart and started switching up their days and times, but eventually we learned their new schedule and did the same thing.

This went on for about 6 weeks I want to say. And what eventually happened is we started causing SO MUCH DRAMA inside these stores, that EVERY SINGLE STORE in my town petitioned against ANY FORM OF RECRUITING in their businesses or on their property. It distracted customers and more importantly distracted employees from work (which store managers did NOT appreciate).

I'll tell you, the day those 2 dipshits showed after the ban, and walked into their first store (petsmart)..... it was the BEST FEELING in the world. We followed them right into petsmart, they got about 30 feet into the store and a manager quickly ran to the front of the store, grabbed both their arms and escorted them outside. Then he explained that every store in that complex (like 14 stores) had banned them from recruiting inside their businesses. These guys actually left petsmart, completely ignored what the manager said, and went into store after store getting kicked out. It took about 6 different stores before they got the message, drove to another shopping complex, and the same shit happened.

In the end, they wound up getting personal information from only 3 people (that we knew of). And we were able to talk 2 of them out of joining the military (both guys), but the 1 girl would not listen. She said she hated her parents, she didn't have any friends, no money, she was a tomboy and we knew we had no chance of talking her out of it. Like 6 months later we called back and she still told us she was still joining. 6 months after that she was gone.

So we weren't able to stop everyone from joining. But we managed to get 8 different shopping complexes to ban recruiting in their stores. And I have to say, that was one of the first times in my life that I actually felt like I did something meaningful

Even till this day, like 10 years later, if I catch recruiters anywhere, it doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, I follow these guys around like a stalker. In my eyes, they're no better than gang recruiters.

To say that the military is where stupid people go is just plain ignorant. You know, to be an Officer in the military you have to have a Bachelors Degree. That's not saying much, but it shows that you need some education to hold a position of authority. Furthermore, there IS such a thing called Patriotism. Some people do it out of love for their country. Citizens (US) should be proud of their country and their military for what it has done and accomplished. War is ugly (I've been there). As ugly as it may be, its often times necessary to maintain the standard of living we have. We do not live in a peaceful world. Be thankful that you have the freedom to spew the anti-military crap that you do. I respect your opinion and generally do not involve myself in drama. I do, however, take offense to what has been stated about the type of people who join the military. I am speaking solely about the US military. I know other countries have different standards and customs etc etc. I'm neither poor, stupid, nor vulnerable. Your post is filled with so much hate and ignorance. You should move to France.

I wont be responding in this thread anymore regardless of anyones reply. It has gone off on a tangent and is now turning into a thread full of negativity. Respect to all. Later.

This thread is full of cowards, but don't worry - we got your back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill

^ So much fail...
First of all, not wanting to go and be part of a shit system doesn't mean you're a coward. Is very easy to be brave - you simply need a simple, dumb mind and do stupid things. What you call being coward is why Earth didnt autodistructed so far. Because of "cowards" who refused to behave with "bravery". There were so many "brave" people in WW1 and WW2 and they raped, tortured and killed with so much bravery.

NOTHING IS WORTH WAR. NOTHING! War means killing another person ON PURPOSE. Even more it means you kill him not for something you believe in but because you were ordered to do so and you are "brave" enough not to question your orders. War is what happens when a strong entity decides a weaker entity can simply be erased (e.g. people killing ants) and their life or needs is not important. The other reason why it happens is because two somewhat equal entities refuse to cooperate together for the good of both and instead choose to eliminate the other and take his shit. This for me is a clear sign or lack of mental ability and problem solving. There are others but I will skip them because the thread would end up being too long and deep for some of the "courageous" folks around here.

Everybody smart or stupid, rich or poor, strong or weak has things for which they will fight. Everybody. But it is THEIR things not the things of others (leaders). Even a dog has it, a lion or a rat. Go and mess up with an animal's cubs and he will die with his teeth in your flesh. That is fighting for your loved ones for something important to YOU. That is why "terrorists" exist. Because they had somebody they loved killed and now dying to hurt those who directly or indirectly were responsible is a great way to die. People are dumb enough to think there's such a thing as a terrorist. Terroristia is not a country, you know. Yes, some are simply fanatical morons who get recruited just because of that. But let me ask you something, you somebody so pro-fighting and pro-defending. If somebody bombs your city and in this process you get to carry your kid with his guts spilling out of his belly and blood bursting out of him and then watch the light of life go out of his eyes, what will you do after that. Will you go and watch NASCAR and eat chips or will you want revenge and do everything you can to make those responsible pay?

@Maruk - Eastern Europe but how is that important. Military is roughly the same everywhere, with some exceptions. I do like the Swiss aproach where after you leave the army you get to keep your entire gear, including the weapon, at your own home - you own it. And the reasons behind this and the way their military works has a similar background with Israel's - they've been fucked in the past so now they prefer that everybody is trained and prepared for anything.

I would have no problem to receive military training. I'd totally go for it. NOT for the brainwashing and the other crap though. Actual serious quality training is a tiny fraction of what soldiers do in military, if at all. I'd totally go for a few months of intensive training special operations style just for the knowledge, skills and everything good about it. Problem is special operations is a tiny fraction of the military and the crap and brainwashing still exists to a certain extent. Having skills and knowledge is one thing, being used as cannon meat is another.

@SpiderBlast - lol, nice one!

Start twitching in the military office and shit on yourself and then look into the eyes of your recruiter (or whatever) and slap on some lipstick and smile :)

Just pretend to have tourettes, they're not going to take you on any covert missions when you're shouting "FUCK" as loud as you can.

^^ So much win :)
Thank you. I'm glad to see at least one person who agrees with me on that post :)

As much of a joke post as this may be, realistically, something like this would probably work. And as someone else mentioned - if your country is intolerant of gays being in the military, just act like a stereotypical gay guy :)

To say that the military is where stupid people go is just plain ignorant.

I agree. Generalising is stupid.

That said, it is true that types of people tend to get attracted to types of jobs. I wouldn't go work as a volunteer in Africa for example - I guess that shows I 'm not a person who would sacrifice all his pleasure helping others. I can face that.

Those who join the army tend to be either from a military tradition environment, or poor who see it as a great way to grab some easy money or (insert cases I am unaware of). It 's rather rare for a humanist to join the army in a period of peace.

You know, to be an Officer in the military you have to have a Bachelors Degree. That's not saying much,

Exactly, it 's not saying much. In the past, officers were only recruited from members of the nobility (they were the "educated" ones at the time). That didn't work out well, did it? :)

but it shows that you need some education to hold a position of authority.

It only shows pretentiousness. The officer needs to have something to defend his "authority" over his subordinates.

Furthermore, there IS such a thing called Patriotism. Some people do it out of love for their country.

Yes there is. Just don't forget that Patriotism doesn't equal Imperialism.

Citizens (US) should be proud of their country and their military for what it has done and accomplished.

I 'll pass on commenting this one...

War is ugly (I've been there). As ugly as it may be, its often times necessary to maintain the standard of living we have.

Now you 're talking. Notice how you 're not told that war in necessary to defend the lives of our loved ones and our property. Think about the difference.

We do not live in a peaceful world.

No we don't. That 's why there is a need for security services.

Be thankful that you have the freedom to spew the anti-military crap that you do.

Thankful? :) That 's just another part of propaganda you are accustomed to. Security is a need, just like having food and drinking water. I pay for food and water in the supermarket. I also pay for security (in terms of taxation since it 's a monopoly).

There 's nothing to be thankful for. You aren't doing me any favours. You provide a service, you get paid for it and that 's that. I do find it interesting how most military people get this part confused. I suppose it feels warm in the belly to feel special, so no need for rational thinking. :)

I respect your opinion and generally do not involve myself in drama. I do, however, take offense to what has been stated about the type of people who join the military.

I agree, it was disrespectful and wrong. Notice how bad it is to see people as insignificant pawns of a bigger group instead of unique individuals.
