Avoiding the military

I don't know how it is in Brazil, but in my country you can state that serving the military does not conform with your religious views and then you can not be recruited. Religious freedom etc...

Maybe something like this is possible?

I could afiliate with a religion or with a political party.

Actually think about that, there's a new political party coming along that I really appreciate some of their ideas, that might be the solution.

Bruce Lee skipped it successfully, and showed that he had "undescended testicles". One can get out of the line by doing something similar... Actually, he didn't skipped it, but the draft board rejected him.

Proof:
Google:
bruce lee undescended testicles skipped military

So someone can get an operation done to push them back before the drafting session, and later pull them out. :D

I have nothing against the military, I just don't want to serve it.

And besides, it's not about "serving my country", I can't do nothing to help my country in my local military base.

If I would really like to help my country as bad as I want to help myself, I would join the B.O.P.E (elite squad) and shot drug dealers in the face everyday. Now I'm not saying that I don't want to shoot criminals in their respectives arseholes everyday, I'm saying that I don't have the guts/force to do it.

In Singapore draft evasion is really punished hard.
What I can say is, if the law is implemented well, you will never truly escape from the evasion.

What can I suggest is try getting sick. Permanent injury is a sure way to escape, but I think you don't want to get that one. Some contagious disease can also make you exempt, but most of the time it is just delaying the inevitable. In Singapore if we are drafted the companies employing us must keep our position (they can't fire us, we keep our position and salary level after we finish our draft).

In reality, draft is not so bad. Even in countries where most of the guys are rich, like in Saudi Arabia, all of the boys must be drafted. Even more, being in military will teach you a lot of skills, and generally make you tougher in life. In Singapore we will be sent up to positions according to your physical score. If you are a tough guy, you will be sent up to special forces, paratrooper companies. If you are average, you will be sent up to marines or ground troops. If you have lower score (like I do) you will be sent up as drivers, logistical officers, couriers, or communication officers.

But in all classes, basic training (physical strength, use of infantry weapons and squad tactics) will still be taught.

So, my advice is just enjoy the draft.
The only thing I missed is just there are no girls you can meet for years.

People here skip the army mainly in 2 ways:

a) They pretend to be crazy. They pass some "exams" 3 times and voila, you are now exempt.
b) They get in and pretend they are gay. They get summarily given a "come back later" dismissal and they are miraculously never get called back (this happens somewhat unofficially).

Try finding similar loopholes in your country. There must be local forums dedicated to that.

Act as a crazy pansy

get out of the military

????

Profit.

How many hours do you have to do a day, and how far is the base from your home? you have to live on the base for a number of months? What do they pay you? Also what are the benefits you do get from signing up?

You are entering a dangerous area of human existence either way you look at it. The military is about power and control. If your job is to shoot "criminals" on a local level, then there is someone far up the chain of command that is giving that order and has some reason related to national security and order fueling your actions. These actions could kill you, or could leave you with lifelong scars. Or they could make you a powerful person. If you don't agree with your country's national security and order, then yea, you should get as far away as possible. Your first step should not be BHW but Tor. If you are not familiar with Tor, look it up, install the tor bundle from torproject.org and start making your way to freedom as fast as you can.

There is no monetary value to freedom, you have to pay with your life.

Dude just join the army. It's a great experience and you will meet many new and interesting people and friends for life. I met one of my partners in the army. It's only 12 months and you won't be locked up all the time. The army will change you, will give you time to think about your future, will teach you that you can be an independent man.

if there would be any Big bobs in there..that would be terrible..run run...

Around 12, but you stay at the base all day long (but you come back home on sundays). Pretty fucking far, but that doesn't matter much. 12 months. Around 300 dollars a month, the only benefit is that the police can't touch you, that is, if you serve.

Military is where stupid people go to become even more stupid. Is like the university of stupid. I realize some people here might have served in the military or even have a military career but i stand my position on this. You MUST be stupid to fucking go and enroll as volunteer or allow yourself to get enrolled into a system who's main purpose is to KILL PEOPLE. If you're going to give me the "defend the country and loved ones" speech better skip it or you will prove me beyond any doubt you are in fact stupid. As a matter of fact I have more respect for mercenaries who do this as a job and they are not delusional to think this is something good or they're serving the greater good. If you go and kill people because you like that at least you make it as a choice for what it is not for the BS you're being fed.

The environment in the military is so fucked up that even if you're not completely retarded and brainwashed to start with, you will end up like that due to peer pressure and the crap they fed into your mind. If you're unlucky enough to actually ever go to a war zone you will see it's not like in the movies. There are no heroes. Just stupid folks that die and stupid folks that survive and have nightmares or at least a fucked up life from then on. Why? Because you allowed somebody to make decisions for you and you gave him your life and your mind. And for what? So they can make the world a worse place by spreading death, pain and hate even further.

To the question of how you skip military. In any way you can, preferably the easiest one. There are lots of people in your country who did it. Ask around for specifics. In most cases bribes work well. Certain medical conditions work too and some of them you can fake. If you're really serious about finding a way, you will find it.

In my country they canceled mandatory army service like ten years ago and its the best thing potiticians ever did. Really, if you are not from country where you can actually learn something in military, it is just completely wasted year of life. Not as bad as prison, but the time of your life is wasted anyway. My brother avoided military service for like ten years with various excuses. Big help was scan of of stamp of various doctors which you can get on prescriptions and so on. Then you need just some photoshop skill and printer and maybe add few more details to make it look real. Doing these things my brother avoided military for so long until the goverment finally canceled it.
If I understand it right, if you pay $1K you do not have to serve, until july is still plenty of time and if you really do not want to serve than work your butt off and I'm sure you can make extra $1K until then and avoid whole year of life lost.

What about university? 20 years ago in Spainour men had to do it too. My brother got a permission for a year, and he renewed it year after year because the studies. In his last year, military was removed :)

If it's the same in your country, just start a new course and if necessesary study the rest of your life.

I dropped off elementary school to pursue my business.

It has been working so far.

I asked even formal military people, and they said that my asthma MIGHT save me out of this one.
But in general people here are strongly pro-military (the brainwashing that the military did from the 60's thru the 80's when they had full control of the country is still strong here)

That would show up when trying to get a passport.

But I'm curious, what booklet is that? when you get exempted they give you a little card saying so but the only "booklet" that I can remember is a little photo thing the size of an A4 sheet of paper that looks like a diploma of some sort.

Come to colombia, everybody and their grandmother makes what they need to dodge the draft. Good thing I am not qualified to go fight guerrillas because of my various citizenships.

I would like to see the face of a guy pretending that he is gay (while he isn't in real life) and the commander saying:

"Come sweet little pie, we were looking for someone like you to freshen our soldiers up".
