Ask Me Anything About Getting Your Apps Ranked In Play Store/App Store

What's your input regarding the variety of apps? Is it easier to rank a "productivity" app than a "game" app?

to begin with i would say say productivity apps because the marketing budget and development costs are much less compared to games..to make the process shorter you can buy android source codes..if you are looking to buy source codes i can help you with that

wow you seem to be a guy with a plan.i like that spirit..first of all i would say you concentrate all your income on one channel i.e. either app store or google play.Marketing budget of $3k seems fair enough..but i can't comment much about this without seeing your game..the 4 channels you thought to promote are really good..but you should know how to do it else you will be wasting your money for nothing..if your app has the potential to be viral then with the first 10-15k users the app will take on its own..
Based on experience I would say you make the investments as follows:
Social Media - $200
Press Release - $200
Facebook Ads - $2000
App Review Sites - $600
but each of these channel has its own sub channels..so make you know what you are doing..hit me up on Skype if you have some doubt

Does facebook ads works now? It seems to be incentivised ads

no no..facebook ads still work like charm..the user's from Facebook tend to user your app more and therefore higher rankings..i always recommend Facebook ads for app installs

Is there a tutorial where I can create FB ads with very less amount

I'm willing to buy open source games and reskin them. Which nich/category should I pick for low competition? ad budget is $100 for my first game to test the water.

Hey man. I have released a few games on the app store, but this next one I have I really feel like it could go viral and be top 10. It's addicting and is different than other addicting viral games. How would I go about making it go viral? I know there is advertising banner ads Facebook ads etc. But would trying to pay for downloads help?

hit me up on Skype let me help you with that..if you are sure that the game id addictive enough then don't go for installs from Facebook alone get your app reviewed in at least 2 app review websitess also drive installs from other ad networks.

Can you explain a bit about the Facebook ads? What type of language do you use in the ads? What is the sale pitch? From the post I've read, Facebook plays an important role in getting traffic.

What about the organic traffic from Google Playstore? Do people generally discover new application from Facebook or some other popular medium?

First off let me start with, awesome thread!
It's awesome you're taking the time to help out us noobies (the world needs more people like you!!) lol

I feel like I'm in the same shoes as ObjectiveC right now.
Everybody is loving my game, and right now on google play I have 48 reviews with all 5 star ratings except one.
On apple it's the same thing except I have all 5 star ratings from every reviewer.
These are real reviews from real people finding my game.
I honestly had no idea people would like it so much.
The problem is, I've only gotten a couple hundred downloads, and not getting the results I expected at all.

It's my first game and It took me 8 months to develop it.
My dream in life is to be an indie developer, so I quit my job and put everything into it.
I thought that if I made a really good game, and put a lot of time into it, it would get tons of downloads and make money. (Boy was I wrong)

So now I'm stuck here, almost out of money, and not knowing how to get the results I want.
If I could just make like $25 a day, that would be enough to keep me going so I can continue pursuing my dream, and make another game.
With the 4-5 downloads I'm getting each day right now, thats never going to happen.

So if you are willing to help out, I'm in desperate need of it, and will take all advice with open arms.
I'm completely in the dark here, and don't know anything about ranking my game.

I planned on using my youtube channel to promote my game, but since there are no good games out right now,
I have only made like 2 videos the last 3 months.
My channel has almost 50,000 subscribers, but if I don't make videos about new popular gaming topics,
my videos only get a few hundred views. I tried making a video about my game but still only got like 25 installs that day.
I need someone with experience like you, that can help guide me in the right direction,
because I'm probably doing everything wrong with my ASO.

My plan right now is to start a Facebook campaign and track installs, and spend what little i have left on that.
If it doesn't work out, then i'll have to put my dreams on hold for a bit.
Do you think that is the right direction to go as of now?
And is there anyway you could maybe take a peek at my store listing and point out anything I'm doing wrong?
Even if you can't, any advice or tips would be a tremendous help, and I would be very grateful.
I've been rolling solo the last 8 months, and figuring everything out by myself, but now I'm at the point where I'm in need of some help.
Thanks man, and look forward to hearing from you!

I released my app this week. Asked my friends to review. It has 30 reviews at moment and only 50-100 downloads. I tested 10$ on facebook ads, but it only converted 5 installs. I'm also buying reviews now.
Where is wrong? I made a good game and the money invested doesnt seems to really worth it.

Natural growth is the best way to move forward in terms of ranking in the Play Store.
