Ask me anything about dropshipping on ebay

My Ebay account just got suspended because they linked it with an older acc.

Should I pursue in getting this solved or just create a new stealth one.

Still, if I need to create a stealth acc where do I get a new mobile phone number and paypal ?

Super frustrating !!

The account is done there's no way you're getting it back.
Go stealth, and BUY an account from askpin, or a rep seller here. They're about 100-250 depending on limits.

If you create one yourself you're gonna need to BUY a burnt cell phone and create another paypal w/ anonymous information.

1. Even if you apply for tax free status with Amazon as a business, you'll still need to charge your clients on Ebay tax if their state requires it. PayPal keeps track of this if automatically if you charge tax on eBay. You're then required to notify each state (all have their own tax laws) and forward this tax to them. This is an accounting nightmare.

This is only true if the seller has physical presence in the state that the tax needs to be collected for. The supreme court has ruled that a mail order merchant does not have to collect sales taxes in states that it has no physical presence in unless congress passes explicit laws contrary to this requirement. Amazon has a separate side deal with the states to collect sales taxes because it got busted for trying to skirt the "no physical presence" rule by setting up a fake company to handle transactions in each state and pretending that it didn't have connections to Amazon.

Hey there BHW-ers!

I've noticed that the level of interest towards the eBay side of BHW has piqued within the last week or so. Some of you are just now getting your feet wet, whereas others are trying to figure out how to turn this thing into a full time xx,xxx/m income.

I've spent A-LOT of time successfully drop shipping on eBay and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have

Cheers,
Zach

Hi Zach,

I am just starting out and I have a few questions. When choosing products from Amazon to list on Ebay and make a profit on, what should be the the limit of a product? so for example you could say to me don't spend over $50 on products while you are finding your feet. My account is old but my history is non-existent tbh... also how are people making mark ups of between $4 and $8 on a product? How much would the cost of a product be on Amazon on average to make a mark up of $7?

I am registered as a business seller on Ebay but I do not have a shop. I have 6 items listed so I'm fresh meat tbh... Should I subscribe to a basic shop now or wait? Also are there any good listing templates?

Hello I am new to this site. Can anybody advise is there anyway to buy amazon vouchers on BHW? Also is it safe and how would you verify somebody is trustworthy etc?

How can I list my items to search at the top of the cassani ebay engine?? I would like to to be number one on the search engine for my product.

A lot depends on how much competition there is with the product your selling. If its a lot of competition, you can't just be the number one listing of the search results just by posting a listing to ebay. You got to establish and maintain your listing. Other than the listing your account should be trustworthy to ebay.

The biggest problem with the Amazon/Ebay model (which I did very successfully until I spoke with my accountant) is the issue of taxes. According to the tax laws in the US, only the ultimate end user is supposed to pay taxes as per their local state's requirement (this varies per state in online business).

2. Because you're adding money to the amazon price to cover the eBay and PayPal fees, you'll always be charging more money to the eBay client which will result in a greater tax being charged to the eBay buyer than you pay via Amazon. Even if it's pennies per transaction, this will need to be filed with each state.

3. if you chose to pay the tax on Amazon but not charge your clients tax on eBay, then you'll be pricing yourself out of the market because you'll need to add the highest state % of tax to make the item profitable (in addition to the PayPal and eBay fees).

If anyone has a real solution to the taxes to run this legitimately, I'd love to hear it (feel free to PM me).

Messing with State taxes is a felony.

2.

Never ask just one person for advice on a topic. The real solution which you may not like to hear is "Get another Accountant."

This 10/1000 limit is killing me.

I have items listed at a 2$ profit margin, cheaper than most of the sellers by a couple cents, free shipping, etc. Some have 20-40 views but no sales.

Keep ending the items and replacing them with others every couple of days to see if they sell or check how the views look to compare what I should keep up, though I have kept some up for about a week.

You shouldn't be trying to make too much money right now if this is all your account can list. If I were in your shoes, I would be focusing on increasing my limits.

Hello people

I am using amazon to ebay method for half year.

about 1 to 4 orders from amazon tracking number is or amazon courier or ups surepost and both of them not counted to be a top rated seller.

process orders timely and select your products carefully. thats it

Hello, i want to dropship Amazon - Ebay but i don't know what price set on Ebay because of shipping and fees on Amazon. Sometimes shipping and fees on Amazon cost $3 and sometimes $10 so i don't know what price set on Ebay...How are you doing it?
Thank you!

I am from India, i want to use this method to sell items on Ebay USA / UK from Amazon USA / Uk. can you pls guide me on what is required from my side and weather i can sell on ebay / amazon usa or not ?

OK so here's my dilemma: I'm dropshipping from amazon to ebay. I'm trying to figure out a way of safely using amazon photos on my ebay account without getting into trouble with Ebay. I'm thinking of just slightly cropping or resizing each photo (reducing height by about 10 pixels) and removing all exif data and then uploading it to my ebay item. However, I'm also thinking about adding a watermark to each photo to make it even more unique. I was thinking of watermarking it with my own ebay seller account name. I don't know if this is a good idea tho. Could it or would it get me into trouble with Ebay? Would you recommend watermarking with my own account's name or just some random image (I don't know what this image would be tho!). What do you think?

Hi Looks like you are worrying about pictures a lot. I have never thought about that, had been dropshipping for about 4 monthes already and had very few issues with picture copyright thing, i usually copy and past images without any action and only had 4 times removed listing from 1000 or more listed items, so i myself do not see any trouble getting same size, quality images from amazon. But if you want to look better than other sellers, of course this thing matters and pictures can make a lot of difference. I have tried writting "FREE 2 DAYS SHIPPING" on some pictures, but have never had any issue with eBay for that one. Also i have seen many sellers write their store names on pictures to make them look more unique. So it's up to you if it worth your time do your best for pictures, but i think good research on item is more worth my time. I hope this little piece of theory helps.

Thanks the info! Seems like I've received exaggerated thoughts about duplicate images in the past. I guess I'm just going to copy them straight from amazon from now on.

I have items that i've dropshipped from amazon on ebay listed, I want to know how I could get people to see my product and intrigue them to buy when i have a new ebay account and want to build-up my seller rep.

You're right. I'm aiming to break even with my current items. I might go lower and take a loss of a dollar or so per item depending on how this week pans out.

Also ordered bought some low priced items that are selling very well on ebay, I'll take a loss on these but at least I'll be able to increase my limits soon and get some more feedback.

Have had three sales in a week. Slow but I know it takes time especially with these limits.

I just realized I've been charged with $30 of insertion fees for items I listed and delisted like an absolute idiot! I have 100 item selling limit. I've only sold 8 items so far and have about (5) positive feedback. Although I haven't really put time into getting them sold. I'm just working on developing a software which will automate amazon to ebay pricing and availability. Should I buy the EBay basic monthly package to be able to sell up to 200 items for free right now? Or should I just stick with listing a maximum of 50 items for now?

You can go ahead and buy the basic store subscription because that is $20/month and you've already spent $30 for insertion fees for ended and relisting. Keep in mind that while you are able to list 200 items for free with the basic store, simply getting the store does not increase your limits, so you will still be at a 100 item limit. With that said since the basic is $20, and it lowers the insertion fees to .20 cents, plus with a store the final valuation fee will be 9% instead of 10% for your sales.

You can sell items you have around your house for cheap to build quick rep, also you can buy inexpensive items on ebay to get your quick 10 feedback star. Outside of that make sure you are optimizing your titles with good keywords and your descriptions have sufficient info on the item for a buyer to feel confident making a purchase. Also, to start you can just do really low profits and increase it after you get some sales and limit increase. Just make sure you keep your account in good standing with avoiding out of stock items and good customer service.
