I was actually using the file exchange before my repricer. I liked the file exchange, it's super fast. It's something I will definitely consider in the future. First I'd have to find out how high the file exchange limits can go though.

I wasn't aware of the 5,000 limit but I do know that it's simples to get it raised to 50,000. I have seen people get upgraded to 100,000 also. And if you required 100k+ then you need to contact eBay via phone. Limitations aren't really that big a deal to be honest, it is my understanding that you just need to be able to justify the raise. I think eBays main concern is that you know how to use the system and aren't just waiting compute resources.

Also, I don't know about you but my repricer will create a File Exchange CSV on the fly and only contain items to be repriced, thus reducing number of calls.

In my opinion 50k is loads really, it allows for 2000 updates in every hour of the day..

Wow, you're running 3 times per hour. Do you think that is necessary? Perhaps during peak consumer activity times. I have considered this and will probably increase frequency during waking hours in my timezone then say in the night time hours I might reduce the frequency, if needed.

don't know if this has been asked, how do you find out if your paypal account has holds?
 
Re Amazon; how are you monitoring price changes? I may just use my bot to do a GET request (no browser) with proxies to speed things up.

Shame there's no quicker way to be notified of changes on Amazon's side!

amazon provides apis to to do virtually everything besides order placement

yeah because their goal isn't to help dropshippers, which is the primary reason you'd need instant notifications. but even then you can just shorten your update intervals to make up for it. from my observation the apis get update information before the site does

Yes you could. In fact i'm planning on building a program that will use multiple AWS credentials (with proxies) via Round Robin and polling Amazon PAAPI very frequently. I will then have my eBay listing price cached locally so repricing calculations can be done very frequently and efficiently.
 
So does anyone want to guess how the big sellers on eBay (50k to 100k listings) are dropshipping with Amazon?

I mean with that many listings, I think it's fair to say they're doing a minimum of 1000 orders a day. How in the world are they processing that many orders through Amazon when they have policies like quantity and purchase limits in place?

You can't tell me they're using multiple Amazon accounts. No way, there has to be a more sustainable and simpler solution than that. Unless of course Amazon is just looking the other way with these guys because they're bringing them so much money.

I will address this query of yours. Amazon provides generic tracking number from the shippers they use. If you go to your orders page and click on "TRACK PACKAGE" if the packaged has shipped, you will see a tracking number along with which carrier they are using to ship. You can then copy this number over to eBay, and usually they will detect which carrier the number is for.

This answer is unhelpful because its incorrect(yes, i followed the steps provided). As original poster mentioned, Amazon seems to be using their own logistics to deliver some packages so it has a unique Tracking number starting TBA. I searched this number on all the main carriers and none of them recognized the tracking number.

After clicking track package, here is what appears in Shipment Details section:

Latest update: Saturday, Jan 16

12:16 AM
Package arrived at a carrier facility
San XXXXXxXX, US
Carrier: AMZL_US, Tracking #: TBA0xx32xxxx
===========================

I changed some details to XXX.

What should be done about this? Just paste it into ebay anyway?

I don't know. But here are some thoughts. Euphorix previously mentioned that you can get an Amazon business account in the US which might help, perhaps the big guys have contacted Amazon and made a deal with them or something.

The other thing is perhaps they have just gone with stealth buying accounts, which can be sustainable.

All you would need is the correct software to automate account creation, proxies and have a steady supply of VCCs to activate Prime Trials. Then after that just stock up on Gift Gards.

Amazon give discounts when buying gift cards in bulk so that can even add to the profit.

The last approach is what I plan on doing.
 
Don't scale the lazy way. Scale the smart way.

Be a cherry picker by taking time to learn how to find products that sell and list just those instead of just posting hundreds/thousands of listings and hoping you'll get sales. This alone can save a lot of time and overhead.



So many people (not just IMs) just want to make money without using their brain or putting in the time and effort. Its a tragedy. Although that's bad, its not as bad as those are are just completely negative about making money from the beginning, but still wants to make money.

Yes we use multiple accounts. It doesn't take all day to process either. Manpower required is little once you been in it long enough to know how to use the tools that are available today.
