Ask me anything about dropshipping on ebay

The split agreement says paypal does at least 85% of eBay's payment processing for the next 5 years.

^ This. PayPal and eBay are still very much bound at the hip. When PayPal had a huge crash the other day eBay payments essentially froze for about a half hour.

What about my questions?

3. We're working on integrating our tools into the program. We're going to try to release them at no additional cost so that you guys get access to the program and it's tools for $30/month :) We advocate operating within the US but yes they will work in the UK

We'll be releasing intel on #2 within a couple days

1. Well enough that I might get my exotic animals license. Hell, might get one of these at some point

So, what do you do if an item becomes unavailable on Amazon or the price increases way too high.

I read somewhere that eBay don't like when you de-list items.

I need to address this in my repricing algorithm. I'm thinking of just marking the price up to wayyyy above market value. This way nobody will buy it.

Is that a good idea or just raise a different damn flag with the bay?

Thanks.

EDIT :: If this does raise concern I can say I have been using a re-pricer and there must be a bug. I think eBay allow re-pricers, right? I believe it's not just drop shippers who use them.

We use software that delists the item as soon as it is out of stock. Raising the price will get your account banned

First question the rep will ask you: Why would you need to reprice your items if you're not drop shipping?

Ok, cool. But I thought you said before that delisting items is something ebay don't like.

Well, don't plenty of people re-price? Can't you say it's based on market analysis? You know, amazon make millions of price changes per day.. why can't we?

EDIT :: Have you run into problems with items on Amazon being different to your eBay advert? I'm sure this has happened considering the number of items you list. How do you address this?

Hi, I have 2 queries, I would appreciate if anyone can answer

1. Amazon is currently using its own logistic service to deliver products, the tracking number is something like TBAXXXXXXXXX, which can only be tracked by amazon account. How do you provide tracking to your buyer in this situation?

2. My paypal account is limited for receiving too many personal payments (not related to ebay), will it be wise to open a new stealth account with same name and attach it with old ebay? If not, what could be the alternative? My ebay account had some seller ratings, thats why I want to use that account instead of a new one.

Thanks

I will address this query of yours. Amazon provides generic tracking number from the shippers they use. If you go to your orders page and click on "TRACK PACKAGE" if the packaged has shipped, you will see a tracking number along with which carrier they are using to ship. You can then copy this number over to eBay, and usually they will detect which carrier the number is for.

How much money should I invest for initial stage? Since people use paypal to order on ebay how much is the risk factor ?

You're going to do well in this business

Never. Our eBay advert is created by pulling info off of Amazon

Totally depends on how quickly you want to scale. You just need to ensure that you hit a cycle of returns.

You'll start off with paypal holds so let's say you:

Front day 1, 2, and 3
You'll be updating your tracking info so on day 4 you'll get your proceeds from day 1. Once you have a steady stream of proceeds and you aren't scaling your account will pay for itself + profits

I just got a takedown notice from eBay. I had one item up for sale (which actually sold) but then it was taken down due to infringement.

What exactly would I have infringed? I did take the image
from Amazon but it wasn't Amazon who reported me.

I'm afra
id to list something else now - what do I do?

Ebay Said ::

Wrecking my head now. I'm afraid to list another item.

Now was it an Amazon product or a seller using fulfillment by Amazon? I have a feeling it may have been the Amazon seller who found your listing and reported it, in which case it would only be a problem with that particular seller.

Yea it was an FBA seller. I actually figured it might be as much. That was literally the only item I had listed, for testing purposes.

I had already decided that when I launch my system I will only advertise items sold by amazon themselves.

I would assume it was the FBA seller then.

Assholes!

But what if I find an item that is sold by amazon and also a bunch of other FBA sellers.

Do I just avoid them and only stick to the ones where Amazon is the only seller?

Am currently above standard seller, have over 1300 feedback , last 12 months 100%.
Wanting to start a shop, but do you advise waiting until i get to top rated seller? How long will that take normally?
Do you advise starting with a basic shop or a Featured as the cost is much more per month for Featured.
Have found a good template to use for my shop so i can make the listings look as good as possible with as much SEO content as i can put up. Will stick with products only sold by Amazon and not third party, i know these can be cheaper but not worth the hassle if you get problems.

Nothing. Nix the 10 account and create your own 500 selling limit account. There's a method to eBay's selling limit madness: it's like a BHW share. Find out and then work the method

How do you create your own 500 selling limit? You say it like it's easy but the only way I can see to do it is to build up slowly, one month at a time. My two year old eBay account also has a limit of 10/500, if there is a way to create an account with a 500 limit I would love to hear it.

As an amazon FBA seller, I don't really care if you dropship my product, but I would report you too if you used my imgage on eBay.
