Are you noticing Google Algorithm Update?

Over Million Keywords lost on Lifewire from 25th Feb till date, do you need more proof?
If you think it's penalized then nothing to talk about that with you. Then keep sticking to your point and come back after 6 months then you will realize. PEACE

LOL, Your the only one here whose claiming that.

NYC - They themselves officially confirmed about the update.

INC - you said their traffic increased with this update but when the traffic goes out for lifewire, it's not penalized. Waaah! LOGIC

Everyone can see their traffic declining in the update period. No site loses 100k keywords daily unless they are hit with the update.

No need to argue keep on sticking with your point. Cheers.

Im not arguing or forcing you to believe what I said but lifewire seems good to me, yes the traffic was declined but it's not a major hit for them. That's my point.:)

When i am saying they are hit, i am saying it for a reason then.

They were hit with the same time as of mine on the same date 28th-29th, 7-8th . The traffic declined according to ahrefs is 8 Million. Yeps, thats mere traffic.;) Cheers!

Yeah sure 1/3 organic traffic gone, not a hit :)
Just image in your day job, you earn 3k and one day boss says from now own you will earn only 2k. :)

My adult sites spiked 20/30% but some niches like tech and music... Im aware about G giving full priority for local SEO and punishing hard kw stuffing.

Ill wait a couple of weeks before going insane again!

This a pic of all my top earning keywords, from what I am seeing, this gonna be like Penguin update ... Massive and Brutal Changes are in the way

I am down to a 1/7 of the traffic I peaked at in late september, but for the first time for about a month and a half or so I am seeing keyword improvements again. Hopefully I did not just jinx it lol

The game changed, if you are focus only on keywords and not the Context of the keywords then your site will drop. My guess is that most sites will need to rewrite their content in order to get up again.
Here is an article about it: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-bert-update/332161/#close

This update wasn't the BERT related. John Mueller himself said it wasn't likely to be BERT: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/john-mueller-november-2019-update/335791/#close

BERT was only about a better understanding of search intent with natural language, for example, if stop words are included. You can read about it here: https://www.blog.google/products/search/search-language-understanding-bert/.

A simple word can change the meaning of a sentence, so BERT now reads the whole sentence as a query, rather than processing each word in turn. It's not done away with keyword research and how you should produce content and answer questions. It just means that Google will be better able to understand what someone is asking.

Well mate this is what i was saying, look at the example in the link I attached if you used to search for something like "how to fish a cow" now you get different results because of google understand the sentence and not just the keywords.
So BERT must have something to do with ranking because if you used to get images or text about cows now you actually get content on how to fish a cow.

Yes, but the algorithm update which caused many people to lose traffic was not BERT related, google themselves said so.

I think we're both agreeing about what BERT is doing, but it's not causing a 50% drop in traffic for some of my websites.

An article like "how to paint 4x4 fiberglass panels" isn't going to drop to position 6 or 7 and be replaced by forum posts and fluff articles from big domains because of BERT.

......

Oh ok....
If google said that, ok.
They're famous for their transparency.
Still focus on "create good content".
Good luck.

Tinfoil hat time.

What makes you think it was BERT related? It doesn't fit the hallmarks about what we know about BERT.

Yes , I am seeing the effects of an update. I am seeing that at least from my couple test sites that the use of semantic content vectoring is really playing a part. Higher density LSI and less targeted exact keyword pages are ranking higher. This is what I am noticing more of a push for "semantically" correct pages and less emphasis on exact keyword targeting but backlinks surprise surprise are playing a larger role in ranking at least in my SERP.

The living legend
