My websites are acting weird. One time it shows on 3rd position the other time it shows on 18th. This is happening from last 3 days now. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Did you build(buy) any PBN links?Nope, It was a brand new domain that was registered at the first go, No redirection or nothing like that. The Site is 10 months old. Legitimate one.

Damn! 0 to 40k organic visitors in months. I'm not serious. How many words /articles do you have there?
Lost most of my long tail keywords - primary keywords are going okay but all of the long tails have fallen off.My main website is in the same niche and I seen drops as well.

Here are my 2 cents on what I felt happened
Google launched BERT update
NYT Got hit badly
To rectify instead of reversing BERT update, Google tweaks Algo to give more weightage to Domain Authority as compared to relevance
Result: Big Authority domains get a huge boost and Less Authority but Focussed Niche sites get dumped

Lifewire is an authority site, they lost over 3M - so i do not see this theory holding up.
makeuseof.com (down 2M)
lifewire.com (down 2M)
inc.com (down 2M)
I can't make any sense what this update has targeted other than guessing that someone at Google gave far too much value to a specific signal which is to value previously under rated sites reason being.
Actually Lifewire and inc are not affected by the recent update, how did you find that false info. In fact, inc gains more traffic from this update.
lifewire.com was definitely hit in this update. INC.com, not as far as I can see.Actually Lifewire and inc are not affected by the recent update, how did you find that false info. In fact, inc gains more traffic from this update.
NYT was not caught up in Bert. When big updates happen, it's an opportunity for us to manually ding big sites. This one was purely political.
Because their articles are critical of Google?Guys, before talk be sure of what you write.
NYT, inc and lifewire were NOT penalized by updates.
Reason is only political.
