In competitive niches, guest posts are very important for pushing keywords to the top of search results. Although backlinks have partly lost their value, high-quality guest posts are still essential in a backlink-building strategy, especially for difficult keywords.

Something important to consider, whether you're getting niche edits or guest posts, is what type of anchors you're using.

If most of your external links are using the main keyword you want to rank for, chances are high your page will become over-optimized for your keyword and then get worse rankings.
 
Hey almany2353, guest posts still work well if the site has real traffic.Niche edits are powerful since the page is already aged and indexed.I mix both but prioritize strict relevance over metrics. :cool:
 
Selective guest posts on sites that don't accept payment and actually have an editorial process, in your niche? Worth its weight for sure.

Guest posts work. Mass-produced guest posts don’t. If a site monetizes every page with outbound links, you’re not building equity, you’re renting space. In 2026 the difference between an asset and an order form is what decides rankings.

Guest posts still work for me, but only when they’re niche relevant and not just DR flex links. contextual placements on aged, real-traffic pages usually hit harder than random DR50+ blog posts.

Guest posts still work, but the context around the link matters more now. If the site has real traffic and the article fits the niche, the impact is usually stronger. High DR alone doesn’t guarantee movement anymore.
