Well, What I think is nothing is dead yet. If your content is solid and engaging. Social shares is most important now. And if you want to take advantage of quality links and solid link juice then obvious only quality and something which attract your readers is must.

As we all know, content is and will always be on of the most important items of any SEO strategy.

From my very little personal experience I can 3rd or 4th (whatever, I lost count) the rise in the importance of web 2.0 content. My blog's google ranking remained relatively stable, even though I update it on a somewhat regular basis with my own unique content. It wasn't until I incorporated tumblr and the like into the mix that my traffic began to increase exponentially.

Article marketing is not dead. You will succeed if you choose the right niche and write articles which really meet the needs of the potential customers in that niche
