They are not dead if they have people searching for them!
But looks like that people like to watch more then reading.

it's not that article marketing is dead. It works wonderfully, as it always has. But you are right... we have to approach it differently.

How? Not using sites like goarticle, but your own website or blog?
It's not dead but a lot of the Article directories that were once popular are, watch what sites you post to, delete crap and use fairly decent content.

Article directories are alive and kicking, you just have to avoid the spammed ones or create your own ones.

Nothing is dead - as far as the article marketing is concern. You have to focus on quality now. If your content is enegaging and giving worth information to your targeted audiance then no worry at all regarding any directories. Its just that your content must be excellent.

I really believe that reports of the death of Article Marketing are over
exaggerated and lack an element of truth.
Many newbie?s and would be Internet Marketers have tendencies to gripe and complain
about techniques and tactics that do not work out the way they expected. They give little
or no consideration that they may be the reason for the failure.
Perhaps they failed to apply the Article Marketing methods correctly or maybe the article
content did not meet the required standard.
To claim that Article Marketing is dead is indeed incredibly ambiguous, and certainly
overlooks many factors.
I am not an Article Marketing authority but it seems to me that much more research
is required by active participants of Article Marketing before the declaration of death
is made.

Article marketing is the thing in IM that will never die but do not waste your time in spinning content. Write a fresh and unique article every time and submit it to a high PR article site or blog to get a quality backlinks and this method is totally accepted by all the search engines.

Good content will always be in fashion but nowadays I think if you have a good content , you will not post it to article directories as it will be dissolved there among tons of collected spammy articles. I would rather put good content on my site or carefully selected blogs with guest postings.

The focus is now on the quality of the content. If anyone says that article writing is dead, they're probably not willing to pay for quality work. To put it simply, if your content sucks, no one is going to read it. With content, you get what you pay for.
