Hello, Im new to mobile marketing but I have a nice idea that could potentially climb to top places of iOS or Android platforms.

I have developed some sketches of a rough idea how the app will look and im wondering should I try to sketch everything and link everything to how it should work? or because I'm going to hire a freelancer to develop it should I speak to him about it or I should have everything ready before I do?

And the other thing how do you decide to trust the freelancer that he wouldn't like the idea and make it his own instead of making it for me?

    Thanks in advance.

Make a PDF of everything so there is no confusion. Draw it like how the storyboard is for iOS.

if you make a project with freelancer they allow you to make a "protected" job so it guarantees that they can't steal your idea, this way you will have the copyright for your app idea and they can't steal it legally.
I would suggest checking their reputation on freelancer and always ask for similiar apps that they have done and check to make sure its actually their work.
Also a trick that I use is to see how many jobs is the bidder currently doing. If he is doing more that 5 jobs at the same time, it means that they have a bunch of developers working on different projects at the same time meaning(they won't focus on your job properly, or you can get a shifty developer working in your project) this is my opining and I never had a good experience from these type of bidders, but i could be wrong.

If you have a good idea, then it's time to think about monetization!

Not necessarily... How about getting the idea built and gathering a user base? Don't get ahead of yourself.

A developer can create the app just from your ideas. Be sure to have an imaginary copy of final app in your mind, and the developer will have it ready.

Sign a contract or NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with the developer.

I will make it in PDF instead of pieces of paper thanks by the way what do you mean by storyboard is for iOS?

Thanks for the advice by user base do you mean to build a base of people who will download the app?

Thanks I will check on google for NDA :)

Thanks for the advice when I look for a freelancer I will consider how many projects is he doing at the same time :)

I prefer to avoid freelancing sites like odesk and freelancer.com. I had two bad experience hiring app developer there.

The first one was really unskilled, I gave him a wireframe that I designed, the final product was really bad and nowhere near it. The second one won't sent me the source code before I rate him 5 stars, he didn't deserve that amount of stars.

If you know nothing about coding and stuff like me, I think it's better to hire a professional developer agency instead. It's more expensive but definitely better quality. I don't know what your app is, but if you think your idea is really good, it's worth it to spend more money.

Another alternative, try hiring freelancers from Reddit. It's on reddit.com/r/forhire. I haven't tried hiring one myself, but I think the people is better than those sites I mentioned above. Don't forget to ask for portfolio though

Thanks I will look for some agencies to see their prices and also I might even try to find a freelancer here because there must be good ones. But for now I think im slightly far from freelancer. I will check reddit as well. Thanks

If you wanna consider a bit of my idea,... Create an app first, let it get popular and then only think about monetization MUCH later. Good luck bro :)

I am a developer myself and I wouldn't trust any other developer online unless I have thoroughly research their background and their passed works.

It is also not only about making the app one time it is about making the app well and coding it well because it WILL need updated later on and if you are not careful with who you assign that work you will end up with crappy code that no other developer wants to deal with which in turn will rot the app.

Be careful and check their work carefully based on what OTHER developers are saying about the freelancer you want to use!

If you trust the freelancer, explain your ideas as best as you can and let him do the grunt work. Just check his work often and see if it's according to your plan.

It's the most difficult part of every business to hire someone to do a REAL work. Be very careful and I strongly suggest you meeting this developer in person before deciding on anything. Nowadays there are good developers in every country in the world. Look for locals so you can meet them, interview them, see their portfolio and later have a close co-operation.

If you really believe in your project then you should follow my advice.

Unfortunately it's only for Mac computers and I'm using Windows 8 .. is there any other suggestion you could give me similar to this storyboard?
