Another friendly reminder to not use PayPal ❤️❤️❤️

This is nothing compared to their new policy for which if they quote "notice" you spread "misinformation" they are eligible to tax you with $2,500, no less!

So basically, it feels they want to scare people away, and they are doing that efficiently.
Don't worry gaypal will collapse on its self

I'm wondering how their financials look this year with all the new fintechs and crypto popping up

For Crypto, I use Kucoin personally, but probably will open some more accounts in case it goes down or something.
Out of curiosity, since you might fear it can close, why not simply use the blockchain itself to hold your tokens and just transfer to a CEX when you need to withdraw to your bank?

Are there any specific instructions what you're descrbing for a relative noob?

Start learning from the bottom up.

I’m on the phone right now so I do not have access to many resources easily, but I’d suggest you research the following (in order):

- What is a blockchain
- What is the difference between Ethereum and Bitcoin
- What is a smart contract
- What is a token
- What is the difference between coins and tokens
- What is a crypto wallet
- What is MetaMask
- How to use MetaMask

If you’ve learned this, you’ve learned the basics, from then on you can go into more in depth learning:

- What is a DEX (decentralized exchange)
- What is a lending protocol
- What is liquidity providing
- What is yield farming
- What is Binance Smart Chain
- What is Avalanche
- What is Fantom
- What is Optimism
- What is Arbitrum

Looks maybe hard, but trust me it’s not, because everything is connected, and it’s easy to follow.

PayPal is so under pressure by governments, that they have joined the bank industry standards as any other bank.

Using PayPal nowadays feels so vintage as using a wire transfer.

I remember back in the day, before 2010, asking some people to pay through paypal was an odyssey. And now there are people that won't be willing to pay, unless they do it through paypal

It's so bizarre that some people very advanced technologically, only want to pay via PayPal because they wrongly feel their ass covered (happened to me on this forum!). And I cannot remember the times I have been scammed through PayPal without the option of recovering my money. Last time was through a very famous Wordpress plugin called Swift Performance

Personally, I'm a huge fan of USDT/Binance Pay for micropayments, and I'm currently testing Wise for full PP replacement. For credit card, Stripe all the way.

Currently I also have 1 Paypal account blocked and my history is the same as yours, more than a decade using my account on a huge regular basis. I had to send all my docs to re-enable it. It dropped 3 or 4 subscriptions like Netflix because I did not see it on time (I disregarded, thinking that it was an update of PP policies like they regularly send).

The only thing I'm missing from non-paypal services, is a great "Pay Now" checkout button like PayPal offers, that doesn't end in a rabbit hole and feels comfortable for buyers. As it happened to me years go with the wire transfers, now it feels very scary to simply remove the PayPal button option.

do wise have a protection like paypal ( good and services ) ? me too. i usually recomend my buyer using USDT but the problem is when they are not using crypto. binance blocked in some country. do you have any recomendation beside binance? because i think they are easy to use and not really much rules there like coinbase etc.

I'm not even using it anymore cause they froze my account for getting too much money too fast a few months ago again.
May I ask how much money is too much?

My experience is they literally closed my account last week.
Only 1 Dispute in 10 years around.
:D
Did you send them your company documents? Or did you not have them?

Or did you have them, but they didn't care?

I super hate it, a stupid payment system. Don't use it, it will charge you a lot of nonsense money.

They've started banning legit buyer accounts too. They've gone completely mad.

Delete both my business and personal accounts a few days ago. Never using paypal again.

Thread Moved

I moved most of my clients away from PayPal at this point.

The stunts they pulled during the pandemic were too much for me. They allowed you to do instant transactions for free for a little bit to make themselves look great, and then increased their transaction fees and rates multiple times from 2021 to 2022. I only keep my PayPal account around for the financial records, although I might just download those and close the account entirely at some point.
