I believe these are the leaked docs:
https://hexdocs.pm/google_api_content_warehouse/0.4.0/api-reference.html

This is huge news. These are leaked internal docs from Google. We can now for sure know what Google uses to decide ranking:

Main 5 findings from the article:

1- CTR matters, and how long the users stay on the page.

2- Use of Chrome browser clickstreams to power Google Search

3- Whitelists in Travel, Covid, and Politics niches

4- Employing Quality Rater Feedback

5- Google Uses Click Data to Determine How to Weight Links in Rankings

What do you think?

"CTR matters, and how long the users stay on the page."

I think this is mostly what "good content" means, along with branded searches. They really don't have any other way to measure good content, isn't it? Of course links matter, but to be on the safe side you kind of need both. You can manipulate links, while is harder to manipulate user interaction and get away with it.
They obviously went for user interaction. Otherwise, they have no clue of whats going on. And they have lost it anyway.

Well , the deal is now to prevent "unsquashed" clicks and increase the click quality. It's not unexpected tbh , what users do on-site is a big soil for AI to get insights about the site quality.

I guess seos will adapt , we built Private Blog networks before , and now will build Private Click Networks :D

An exclusive pic of Google SEO offices right:

That's surely the biggest current year SEO News,
It's a golden time for anyone willing to exploit the system,
Google will take ages to adjust to what people's are willing to use this data for

take a step ahead if you want to make this a longer term win,
probably searches from g accounts or/and users with decent history of navigation will be used to prevent this, as well as ips & other footprints stored,

everything would work after several A/B testing, but everything up to the ROI to be made based on resources used,
best win would be to low volume high value keywords/niches, start sooner & scale hard, it's the same era as 2005-2011 for backlinks,

also, there's more data to be used, it's not just about CTR & UX,
as long as we're more certain about the ways to manipulate the page ranks now

What a comment on Reddit said:

"Question: How do you remedy a major AI-Search implementation fuck up that leaves many thousand search engine content creators disgruntled?

Answer: By throwing a useless "LEAK" at them that reveals no new information, but is perfect for sensational headlines"

This kinda surprised me. Like why would Google make it easy to be manipulated? It's crazy!

It's easy to manipulate CTR. Crazy stuff.

It seems Google reps on Twitter are strictly there to spread lies and propaganda to dissuade you from actually taking steps that work.

of course they distract from what works, they always did. its common knowledge in blackhat circles to try exactly what google says not to do as it often works :D

What do you think?
So, I didn't see this post earlier and just shared my own version. Lol

Why did you add it though, do you even know the answer?

Any idea what this one meant:

- 3- Whitelists in Travel, Covid, and Politics niches

I got the rest of them easily enough.
It means Google may whitelist a niche or topic if they wanted, and might restrict topic or niche also.

For example they might de-rank some sites that support Trump (an example only) and rank sites that show some support to Biedn... And so on

At least this is what I understood.

Guys please stay on topic.

I read on twitter, they said this leak may contains around 150 different factors that Google uses to determine the ranking, it may take some time for people to dig into.

I honestly believe this is a valid leak, why? Beacuse all these factors so far, goes with our view and experience while dealing with Google, and goes against what John and other Google spoke persons.. Which we know that for a while.

I always knew that thier advise is a joke and garbage, maybe learned that the hard way, now this is a proven by this leak.

These sneaky tactics from Google deserves each site master to do BH SEO all the way.. They get what they deserve..

It would help if you calmed down both of you @YouTube Learner @MrWhite2018

There is no point in continuously arguing and destroying the whole thread.

I'm going to remove all of your posts, if I see 1 more, you will get a warning.

Let's not act like 5 years old.

Is there any evidence that this "leak" is genuine? Has anyone reviewed the source documents?

Thank you
It was pretty clear to me from Rand's article that Google actively surpressed what it deemed to be "unsafe" content.

They censored (aka "surpressed") content that contradicted Gov narrative on Covid -19 (along with every other major tech outlet except those that are staunchly free speech)
... I suspect this was done because of pressure from 1) advertisers (big pharma) 2) large shareholders ("global asset managers". hedgefunds, pensions, etc), and 3) elements of State & Fed Gov - particularly certain governors and 3-letter agencies. Fearmongering with headlines and selective sources, supressing news on actual source, supressing alternative views on the election not to mention Jan 6.

It's really the same clever trick that was used at Jack's Magic Coffeeshop before Elon pulled back the curtain...
supress news that you don't like by calling it unsafe -

My bigger question is who pressured or did Google take it upon themselves to decide?

Let's be honest, Google controls the results far more than any of use would like to admit

.. Latest quote from John Mueller after core updates ... " Maybe You Had A Good Run... "

That cuts both ways my friend...

Update:

THERE ARE 14K RANKING FEATURES AND MORE IN THE DOCS
