Do affiliate sales drop in September & October because people are waiting for the retail season or is my website's performance dropped?

There's no hard and fast answer to this mate.

Covid could be a factor, but some say sales have dropped, others seen increased sales.

BlackFriday and Cyber Monday are next month, so people may be waiting for then too, then the rush to Xmas etc.

Yeah black friday and cyber monday is possible that caused it.

My sales have dropped even though the traffic has increased.

Festive season could be the reason.

I'm not sure though.

This does not apply to all niche. Plus, some products are seasonal, you are either dealing with a seasonal product, or your traffic was affected by Google Algorithms. Try comparing performance with the same time last year.
