Hello,

I recently changed websites hosting from SiteGround to GoCreateMe, Since last year Alexa ranking was stable or increasing every day, after changing the hosting Alexa ranking is dropping every day like hell, shall anyone explain why this is happening, please? Thanks.

Migrated to Shared hosting on GoCreamMe.

Could be bad neighborhood. Or maybe servers/load times are now slow

While it's true the load times will be slow on oversold cheap hosting like GCM, load time doesn't determine the alexa rank but it relates as I explain below.

There are only 2 reasons for the Alexa rank drop.

1. Reduced traffic. If most of your traffic is organic, then it's no wonder most of your SERPs are dropped after moving to cheap hosting as the servers are always crowded/overloaded which results in slow page-load time which equals less love from Google.

2. If the traffic is not dropped or even increasing but still the Alexa rank is dropping like rock essentially means other sites related to your niche are getting a lot more traffic than yours and hence the rank drop.

It's upto you to determine the case you belong.

Thank you,

1. Yes, all the traffic is only organic, I think this is the case from dropping.

you could check to see if your ip is blacklisted you can also see how many other sites are on the same IP as yours. You could try switching to a dedicated IP and see if that improves your ranking there. If not then you could always move to a different web host and test and see if the ranking comes back

Alexa rank does not really mean anything
If the reason for the rank drop is not traffic drop - I would not worry about it

Who honestly cares?
Focus on driving traffic that converts.

I think it’s a BS metric to be looking at in all honesty. Unless you are wanting to sell the site and it could appeal to a buyer!

This makes sense !

@Op can ask @BassTrackerBoats about Alexa. He might have you a little storyo_O

as i guees changing hosting changes some sort of algorithm
which leads to reduce ranking :(
ask an seo expert ull find in forum.

How is your site loading speed after moving to new host?

I always ask the same .. but will do it again..

WHO CARE ABOUT ALEXA ANYWAY?

don't depend on alexa. their matrics don't have much importance now.
I think this is because of IP changes

its mainly because of site loading speed. As you migrated to shared hosting, it definitely hits your site loading speed and hence reduced traffic. And Alexa Ranking is just based on your site traffic so your alexa ranking is also dropping. however, Alexa Ranking does not play any significant role in determining your site's performance.
