Advice on release forms, for porn models and producers.

Hello everyone! If any of you have had done photography shoots/produced content commercially or worked in the filming industry, I have some questions that you might be able to help me with.

I'd like to know what is a release form?
How can it be used?
Why is it important to have a release form?
How does it protect an individual or company? (Please share your experience of why it is important).

Does the location of the signing of release form affect the way release forms would be written? (Does the genre of the shoot correlate to the location's law? For example, if you are shooting a porno in Ukraine, where making porn is outlawed, would the release form be nullified?)

What sort of info is needed in the release form, and what sort of "terms" does a release form need?
-Normal shoot for commercial purposes
-Shoot for adult content

What are things to look out for as a model/photographer when signing the release form?

I hope I would be able to get useful advise and information

do you really think asking these sorts of questions is a good idea on a marketing forum? Yes some of us are professionals but there are a lot of part timers also. Your best bet is to get a lawyer, any wrong advice from someone who isn't qualified could land you in a lot of trouble

I'm just happy if various people leave their 2 cents. I don't expect any one person to answer all my questions.

You would still need a lawyer.

It's basically an agreement allowing an individual to be filmed. Depending on the language in the release form, it allows for footage to be released, licensed, sold, etc.

Location does matter as the form needs to be legally binding. International comes up in terms of distribution, commercial release etc.

If you cannot afford a few hundred for a lawyer, you certainly won't be able to afford the thousands in legal judgements because you had inadequate legal counsel.

Switch to a safer niche, save up the profits, and use that money to hire a lawyer and start your business properly.

If for example, I filmed an adult video with a model in a country where pornography is outlawed, but she signed a release form, is it invalid even if I release the video when in a country that allows porn?
