A New Experience With Namecheap...

When I tried to add a domain to my shopping cart yesterday, I was presented with the live chat icon instead. When I asked the support staff why I couldn't register the domain, they said the following:

Namecheap responsibly tries to prevent abusive domain registrations and reduce Internet fraud. Our work includes partnering with global authorities to identify and prevent the most current abuse patterns. Based on this work, domains that contain certain keywords cannot be automatically registered. To check the possibility of this domain registration with us, please share your proposed legitimate use of it.

Additionally, please confirm that you understand the following:
- If the case is proved to be a trademark infringement, you run the risk of losing the domain with no possibility of a refund.
- If it's used for illicit activities, legal actions can be taken to prevent it.

In the end I did get the domain...

Has this ever happened to any of you? I have registered a lot of domains and this sort of thing has never happened to me.

Never happened to be honest and I've regged hundred of domains with namecheap

The domain contained the word credit, so that probably raised the red flags...

also had this once when buying a crypto related domain, wasnt even a trademark.

Another fckn reason to the pile, to not use NameCheap. Stopped using them years ago.

Namesilo.com is the best.

I had this one incident when they closed my account for no apparent reason. I never register more than one domain from one account and always use fake info on most of my accounts. Maybe that was the reason for them suspending my account.
