A "few" newbie questions from a newbie

Hi. I am a new member here in BHW and I am very interested in doing IM, since I am currently unemployed. I've read around 5 forum posts and or articles already. I have a 'few' questions though, this is to make sure I have a 'safer' start since I don't have a lot of money to invest in. I can still survive if I lose all that money because I currently live with my parents but I obviously wouldn't like that.


1. When creating a blog/website (e.g. how to sing website), how many articles should I write on that website/blog before moving on and finding another niche for another website/blog?

2. Should I make a website/blog for a broader topic (technology, politics), or for a more narrower one topic-wise (singing, painting)?

3. How long (in months) and or how many articles should I wait before I apply for an adsense account?

4. Should I put affiliate ads on the website/blog before applying on adsense for a bit of income from referrals?

5. When searching my niche in Google, are Howcast, wikihow, Youtube,and the like considered as authority sites? Since they almost always come out as top 1-10 in search results. Also, should I continue with that niche even though they cover the top5 of the search results?

6. is paying for an SEO necessary?

7. What Google search position should I aim? Is having my blog/website on the second page fine?

8. In most of the top posts, the AVG monthly searches on their screenshots are accurate (e.g. 80,000 searches). I've tried it myself and the values on the AVG monthly searches are like 100K – 1M. I think that's quite broad if you ask me.

9. Do modern website names work well? Names like "Tumblr, Grindr, Motherfuckr, etc"

10. Can I use weebly/wix instead of wordpress? why/why not?


I hope my questions make sense, and hopefully the answers would help other fellow newbies as well.

3. you have to post minimum 30 unique article content length minimum 600.you can apply when all your article are published but you can apply after 4 month.
4. if you want to ad sense account you cant use any affiliate link in your site.
5. yes, you can go with these niche if you have enough optimized content and authority back link.
6. not necessary , if you know SEO well
7.depends on your keyword but as a newbie you can focus with bing, after that you can focus on google.
10. word press are best for SEO, you can optimized your site easily with wordpress,as you mentioned you are newbie dont go without wordpress
 
1. I say don't move to another niche/site before you get this one going. Otherwise you'll end up making 3-4 blogs, waste months on them and won't get a penny from it. Just make sure not to select a dead niche, otherwise no matter how much effort you put it just won't work.

2. It depends, just ask yourself in which niche can you make engaging content and really understand what it's about.. If you think you can select any niche and just hire someone to make articles for you then you're wrong.. there are millions of blogs out there on any topic you can imagine.. The successful ones are the ones that post interesting and engaging stuff. To do that, you need to understand the insides of the niche. For example, you can make a blog about politics, right now Hilary/Trump are the hot topics, you can post some interesting stuff about them.

3. If you have 10-15 posts, the blog should look decent enough for you to apply.

4. Let's put it this way, if your site is fresh and you're not getting any traffic, what's the point of the affiliate links? If your site is getting decent traffic, it means it's good enough to be approved by adsense (which doesn't take that long)

5. If I were you I wouldn't put any bets on SEO now... I would rather focus on Facebook groups, this one can drive you a ton of traffic if done right... (i.e. if blog is on political topic, add links to your blog posts on the political groups)

6. same as above

7. Second page won't bring you anything, always aim for at least top 10 on competitive keywords, and top 5 on average kwds.

8. Again I wouldn't even look at the keyword searches, I would promote the blog in other (more effective) ways. SEO is hard for fresh blogs. You can start making decent money via other methods and then invest in SEO.

9. Depends on your niche. If politics, make sure it doesn't sound cheap/childish..

10. Weebly/Wix won't work for blogs... Just learn to play with wordpress, it'll pay you back later.

Wow! A newbie that actually reads things and is actively trying instead of posting things like "help i are need money, giv ideas, I need 1 dollar send pls"
2. You wanna try to find a kinda specific niche, one might think that doing something more broad will be more beneficial but just starting you'll just make your life harder, try to grow as you learn.
6. I'd go for trying to spread your brand through social media, parasites and free methods that will link to your page, it's easier to start investing time instead of money.
9. Think up of a name and ask people if it's stupid, if they say it is, think of something else.
10. Wix and those kinda websites are bad for seo and optimization, wordpress is real easy and there are a bunch of free templates out there.

Nice question.

1. 13 to 17 Articles enough for each websites. (1500 words to 2500 words home page contents, 10 blog articles)
2. Its up to you. Based on your budget you have to do website for big niche or start micro niche site. Once reached good position you add more related posts.
3. Minimum 10 Articles good if it contains enough information for viewers.
4. Dont add any affiliate links before applying for adsense. There are lot steps should be followed before applying for Adsense.
5. Avoid such keywords when you see the wikihow, wikipedia, etc, but youtube is indication of the keyword is low competitive.
6. Yes SEO is necessary to rank up and get top position on search engine. Based on the keywords competition the cost will be varied.
7. Top three is better for your expectation.
8. Cant get this question. Do you asking about high searches keywords?
9. Modern name will work good if you can do perfect marketing.
10. You cant edit the website structure once done in weebly,wix. It will be easy and friendly if you use wordpress.

Yes probably this is a good approach , although i dont think having affiliate link is against Adsense TOS

As per experience, dont add any affiliate links while applying for Adsense. But you can use any affiliate links once got Adsense approval.
 
Hey thats a good approach as i said , but when you are approved you can add affi links
