A bot for scraping reddit and reposting on Instagram

Someone on Reddit just made a python script that scrapes the front page of any subreddit and then posts an image from that front page every hour on Instagram.

I can't post the link as I am still new here, but it's on /r/Python and the post is called "Built a small little Instagram meme bot ".

Would be curious to see if someone wants to try it out. I'm a bit busy these days, trying to finish my thesis, but I would be happy to see if someone does and posts results.

Interesting, good viral content for sure but i assume it's hard to have it niche specific.

I was looking for something like this. No joke this guy saved my ass, I would love if he could implement a hashtag researcher in there

I think if you target a specific low-population subreddit and you do a quick filtering of the posts it scrapes, you can get a decent instagram bot running.

That would be really great actually.

Reddit provides good RSS feeds, just use those with any ISG bot that allows you to post from RSS. Sometimes can be tricky to get the image you want, but with parsing of the feed and token support to scrape a link then xpath to an image you can 9/10 always get what you want
