A Beginner's Journey to $15/day [Amazon+AdSense...?]

I'm a guy from East-Central Europe in my mid-twenties.
I was lurking this forum for months and lately I decided to take action and began my IM journey.
My first goal is to make $15/day with my sites monetized by amazon and adsense.
After keyword research I chose my niche in pet supplies, not just because I found promising products, but because I like to write about pets.

In the last two weeks I did the followings:

• Bought hosting and domain (domain is brandable; not keyword, but two words related to my niche)
• Wrote 15 reviews about the best selling products and 6 articles about pets related to my niche
• Made twitter, instagram and facebook..
  Followers by now: Twitter-660 Instagram-748 (I don't know how to get audience on fb without advertising, any idea?)
• Set up amazon and manually made a comparison chart
• Set up AdSense (though ads are still blank, it will take time to approve the site, I guess)
• Commented on main forums in my niche and got deleted for linking my site, so now I'm trying other methods.

I had about 150 visitors in the last two weeks and 43 clicked on amazon links, but no one bought anything.
Is this common? What's a good conversion rate?
Anyway I made this thread to keep myself 'motivated' and to document my journey.
I plan to purchase a new domain soon and make a new site, I haven't decided yet what will be my new niche.

I'm doing keyword research now looking for my new niche
and as I learn more about keywords I think I made a mistake with my first site.
First site keyword: 2400 monthly searches, high competition, CPC ~1$
I don't know if I should 'waste' more time on this site writing articles.
Anyway, today I will search for a new niche with good keywords now that I know what I should looking for.
I guess everyone learns from their own mistakes. :hmmmm:

Thanks! I searched for brand profiles that similar to the products I promote then I followed their followers. On twitter once I reached the max 2000 following, I've waited a day or two and unfollowed those who didn't followed me back with the Crowdfire app. On insta I tried to do the same but I got blocked temporarily a few times.

Learned more about keyword research and I think I found a good keyword in my interests. I suggest you guys who have troubles finding a good niche to make a list about your interests, personal things and try to go deeper, for more specific things. I found two good topics this way.
My first site couldn't generate good traffic in its first month as I suspected, but I'll let it run for a year and see if I can gain more unique visitors.
With my new niche I did the followings in the last week until now:
- Wrote 15 articles/static pages with 7-800 words on average
- Registered the domain, two words, not exact keyword but the first part of the keyword is in the first part of the domain
- Set up the site, tried to mess with the html of a free theme then realized I'm not a programmer and chose a more simple theme.
- Set up analytics, adsense, amazon banners and made on-page SEO
- Made twitter, facebook, tumblr, pinterest and instagram


Plans for today:
- Making the first posts on social media and following a lot of users who might be interested in the topic
- Creating images with watermark and sharing them on social media
- Finding out how the hell pinterest works exactly, anyone has any experience with pinterest generated traffic?
- Writing a new article or making an infographic


I hope that this niche will be successfull, since it has way better numbers than my first topic, but I'm confident right now because this site had more visitors in the last 3 days than my first site had in 2 weeks.

Now I'm making short book reviews of the best selling 10 books in my niche linked to amazon.
Yesterday I made a few watermarked content for my social media profiles and followed 250 people on insta and 400 people on twitter.
Right now I have 53 followers on twitter and 71 followers on instagram.
I want to promote clickbank products as well, but the best clickbank product is made by my main competition.
What do you guys think, is it a problem? I don't want to lead my traffic to the site of my competition, but they have the best product and the best grav. // Avg $/sale ratio.
Btw if someone is familiar with clickbank promotion, could you help me with how can you promote the best way?
Should I make a review of each product I will promote? Or is it enough just to list them or make a banner with the hoplinks?

No, I've made it manually, I followed the limit, 2000 profiles on twitter and after a few days I unfollowed those that didn't followed me back. Though I think it helped me that people usually follow back in the "pet"-topic, especially if you follow the profiles that they made for their pets. edit: On instagram I got blocked temporarily a few times, so it slowed down the process, but with cute pet posts I gained a lot of followers in short time.

Shared my book reviews everywhere, but what generated more visitors in the last 2 day is the infographic I made.
Today I will make book reviews about my second topic in this niche and maybe even a new infographic. Later I want to create my first clickbank links, but I'm still not sure about how I should promote clickbank items the best way.
Insta: 171 followers
Twitter: 115 followers

What surprised me that on my first site there was three orders through amazon.
And the visitors came from google, I think that's a good sign!
It's only around $4 in earnings but this is my first online income ever and I'm hopeful about the futureeace:

I made a page with short reviews on clickbank products and some new book reviews.
Instagram and Twitter: 350-350 followers
Tried to mess with the settings on google's webmaster tool and made on-page SEO on a few page.
Right now I'm trying to build backlinks on forums and communities and it's already showing good numbers.
The next step will be to make a youtube video, I want to learn how to make professional looking videos and dominate this niche on youtube! :beer:

There were three orders on my new site, I guess it's because I had good traffic in the last two days through a forum-like community. Sales are from amazon, one kindle book and 2 other products I didn't listed on my site.
Well I guess tonight I'll make reviews of these ordered products as well, these orders showed me a good direction.
Yesterday I made a youtube how-to video in my niche for beginners, well I wouldn't call it professional since it's only slideshow-style, but it's better than my competitions' low quality videos. I posted it to my social media profiles and put it on my landing page.
I hope it will get good rankings.
Instagram and twitter followers are around 500, but I will spend more time with building the profiles in the next days.
ps: Does anyone know what country should I choose on youtube advance channel settings before I set up my adsense?
My country or the targeted country? Will I have problems if I choose the targeted country? :hmmmm:

Good luck! I noticed you got banned from the forums almost instantly. My advice, which I have had a lot of success in is to join a number of forums or message boards you are interested in. Start posting on them immediately and then let them go for a few weeks. Let your account sit. In some cases I have a few that I have let sit for years. When I come back, they are more respected and less likely to be flagged. Some will be a waste that I won't use but maybe someone else could...

That's a good advice, thank you! Actually I've made rookie mistakes when I first tried to build backlinks, now I understand the methods and I know that it's a bit more complicated than posting my links everywhere!
It's real, hard work... when I created my site I thought that I'm somewhat ready and I'll write articles from time to time. But now that I'm doing it, I know that I was nowhere ready even with the site.
My plans for today were:
- Creating a page where I write short reviews of new products ordered in the last days through banner links
- Creating 1-2 new posts to social media (professional looking photo posts)
- 'Advertising' my new page on social media and forums
- Spending time on 2 new projects, even if only planning
Now I've realized that I was working 8 hours straight and didn't look in to the new projects.
IM is really time-consuming! :ranger: But hopefully I will see the results soon.
