250 dollars a day - Hard word, dedication, and determination

Wow what, you only have 2 reviews for each site and you're making a decent income? Damn...I have like 12 reviews, 5 articles and 84 products in my shop and I've made 3.50 in the past 3 months with them lol. Good job on your product research I guess.

Haha. I hear you, mate. I guess this is one of the reasons why my translation and content writing Gigs sell that well. I provide high quality. I never needed a content writer, so I don't know how bad it is, but from what I've heard it can get incredibly bad :D
Have you tried content writing offers on BHW, or only places like Fiverr?

So, to sum up your post, most of the time you basically (re-)optimize content and look for new niches, right? I really feel like I should start doing stuff. I am stuffed with information on every possible niche of how to make money in IM. I definitely need to stop reading and start doing what I know. Your thread actually gave me a couple of ideas. I'll combine them with the ones I already had and see how it goes.

Store type sites just don't work as well .. Review sites are the way to go.

as OP said .. It takes a few months to get money when you start .. Especially when your using organic traffic .. Once you figure it out though it gets easier ... More fun and a lot more profitable.

Yeah my site is a review site with a store section on it and some articles. The homepage has strictly product reviews on it though, nothing else goes on there, no shopping no articles, just reviews, then the customer is free to browse. I also have had them up for about 2-3 months now, I just don't think I picked the right products possibly. Also it was your Amazon thread in the money making section that convinced me to go into Amazon affiliation a few months ago, but now I just don't know. Someone I met looked over my sites he's like 'scrap it man, work on something else.' Even though I think they look good and have a good amount of content, shit sucks basically lmfao.

I've made more money making simple blog posts on high ranking sites with relevant content locked software than I have from actual work so far. Which is pretty sad lmfao

Well you only have twelve reviews which is really small in my opinion. I don't think it is possible to come to any sort of conclusion until you have more content and visitors. Reviews can be hit and miss. Check how many of them are ranked on the top ten. If none, there is your problem.

Nice update on your progress Michael! Under $2k of constant/passive income with just six websites and after roughly one year, is really good if you ask me. I'd call it a job well done. :)

I have one question though. What do your homepages look like? Did you write a lengthy article which goes through the niche (KWs and stuff) and used it for your homepage or do you follow a blog like method, with snippets for the articles?

Thanks!

I have done both. A lengthy article on the home page for a couple and blog page style for the other 4. Blog style doing the best so far, but that does not mean much as 3 of the sites don't have many posts in the top ten.

What matters the most is the content of your inner pages/posts. I don't try to rank the home page for anything. Just the inner pages which are far more targeted and that is where the buying traffic comes from. Long tails.

I understand your point. Most of the Amazon websites that I checked went for the lengthy article on the homepage and only that. This is probably because they focused more on just a single KW (domain related) and not as much on the long tails.

What wordpress themes you are using exactly ... care to share ?

I don't have one in particular. Every site has a new theme. I just pick one that looks clean and simple from the wordpress directory.

However would love to see your few themes sample ... if that is ok with you

Would you mind sharing how exactly you look for new niches? What are your requirements for a good niche and product?

Also, can you tell me the revenue details of Amazon US? Is there a cap for revenue per sale and/or how many % do you get per shipping? Couldn't find any details on that and I wanted to compare these stats to the ones we have in my country.

For finding niches: Pretty simple stuff. I just look at various products within several niches and check the amount of reviews numbers. If there is tons of reviews across the board for hundreds of different products, I know it's a profitable niche if you can get into the top ten. Commission can go up to something like 8.5% if you are selling tons but i'd say 6.5% is very achievable for beginners. Don't over think it.

For themes, the examples are in the wordpress directory. Any one of those blog or magazine themes will work. I could download any one of the plain looking themes and experience a similar conversion rate. I don't have a favorite to show you as they all my sites have a different theme.

Another great amazon journey.. I would be following that..

Well one positive note is I seem to be getting more and more days between 70 and 150 dollars. Very rarely over 200 still. When I was first starting out I used to be so excited to see a few dollars a day. Nice to see how things have changed, and hard work paying off.

Hopefully I will be saying same next year but instead of 70-150..200-300 days ;)
