Hey, there fellow BHW! I'm currently a student in high school been into earning online since 2016. I've been a member of BHW for about a year now but rarely posting, always reading and taking in new knowledge. I have previous success in eCom and Site Flipping. This year I decided to try something new and something which can give me a profit on Autopilot with very low maintenance.

I have experience in website design and a bit of SEO and etc. So I decided to try out Adsense this year, however, to tackle the difficulty of starting from scratch I decided I would buy pre-established sites which were either already earning a little bit with Adsense or another Ad company.

Costs: Website Prices, Domain Transfer and Renewals, Hosting
Total Cost was approximate: $500 after adding up everything cost related uptill May 2018.

February 2018 to April 2018:
I spent these first few months stalking Website Listing and looking for good deals to catch. Eventually, I managed to build a portfolio of 5 sites all in different niches.

Website 1: Most Expensive Site I bought was for $250 which was claimed to be making $30 monthly from Adsense. Seemed like a good deal, the website design overall was quite old and there were some errors which could be fixed to improve earning instantly.

Website 2: Second Most Expensive Site I bought was for $130 which was claimed to be making about $15 monthly on Adsense but was a foreign non-english site, make issue of non ad optimised site, plenty of seo errors.

Website 3-5: These were bought as a bundle of 10 sites for $100, I sold the other 7 to a friend. So each of these sites technically cost $0 each. Reported to be able $1 a month each however what caught my eye was these were automated and I currently did not have the knowledge to do this myself so I bought these to reverse engineer and learn automation.

April 2018:
I got my Adsense Approved towards the very end of April 2018. However I did a full redesign of Website 1 & 2 during April and super optimized for Ads, added some new content (about 5 new articles for each website and used Yoast Plugin to do SEO for posts)
I have not done anything on Website 3,4,5 except change ads code to mine, Will leave these as is for the meantime and focus on the other two.

May 2018:

Website One has been performing not as well as expected however some issues with ad placement I am fixing currently.
Earnings at: $1.62 this Month LOL (ToT)

Website Two (foreign) has EXCEEDED expectations after the redo, no issues so far with this one.
Earnings at: $22.05 this Month :)

Website Three to Five (not bad)
W3 Earnings at: $0.07
W4 Earnings at $0.04
W5 Earnings at $0.00

Total Earnings so far: $23.73 / 10 days which means $2.37 daily revenue currently *-*
This month I will focus on adding more original content to Website One and Two, finding out why W5 isn't earning anything. I will post updated towards the end of this month.
Please feel free to ask any questions.

Try to make a rudimentary cost/benefit analysis on all sites. Focus on this first before buying more sites. Especially site 1. Only have sites in your portfolio that a) you are developing or b) make money, in my opinion. Out of curiosity, where did you buy these sites from?

Interesting journey to follow! Would you mind sharing in which niches your websites are?

Love this, will follow closely. I am doing a similiar project at the moment with mobile gaming apps.

Hey, yea, I do have many more sites which I acquired before or have established myself, these are in different streams of income, however. These 5 sites I bought for the sole purpose of Adsense revenue. I will stick to these 5 for a month or a bit more and then judge whether any of these need to go or need more investment.

I bought the first 2 sites off Flippa, however the last 3 I bought off a Seller communicated off Flippa and he was in need of some quick money so I bought a whole bunch of sites from him. I sold most of them to friends or flipped them instantly on Flippa. I usually recommend Flippa for buying established sites as they have some good verification processes plus sometimes easy to get good deals. Especially foreign sites, I think these are underestimated in Flippa and quite undervalued.

Hey Thanks! I will share these Niches after a month or so, still a bit early for me to share niches in the danger of it becoming diluted too much sorry. I will, however, recommend niches in which there is always room for automation, for example, one of my earlier niches (none of these 5) was Fitness, I was automating this with YouTube fitness videos and this was doing quite well. So don't be too stressed on the niche, just find a niche you like and see if it is popular.

Where you purchased these ? Did any seller gave false information ? How much are you paying for hosting ? CPC and total views in a day ?

how much article in website 2 ? and how old the site?
Thanks
There are just over 600 articles already on the site without me adding any, the site is about 10 months old currently.

I purchased these from Flippa, Seller did give some false information regarding traffic but still manageable and not worth starting a dispute.
In regards to hosting I pay about $400 yearly in total for a Reseller Server (65GB SSD Storage, 650GB Bandwidth), and also another 2 normal SSD Servers (Unlimited Storage, Unlimited Bandwidth).
CPC on Average is $0.84
I get about 3000+ Pageviews & 4500+ Impressions Daily in Total

what is the traffic like on each site?
Traffic is decent for Website 1 & 2 with W1 getting about 250 Unique Users Daily, AVG Time of 1:40, and a Bounce Rate of 23.48% with 65%+ coming from Organic Traffic (Stats on Average for this month)
W2 is getting about 300 Unique Users Daily, AVG Time of 2:11, Bounce rate of 38.93% with over 85% Organic Traffic. (Stats on Average for this month)

W3 to 5 are getting 20, 40, 10 users daily, but a long duration on W4 gets about 5:00 AVG Time.

I used to do some bits and bobs on Flippa, definitely a cool place to pick up ready-made sites if you're not that way inclined. You do have to be careful with the established sites, as you've seen some traffic/earning claims are fabricated. Sounds like a cool journey. I'll follow along :)

Thank! Your project sounds really good too, I have been in Mobile Apps but was quite inexperienced in it so went back into Websites, will be interested to hear about to your progress!

To yes definitely, Flippa is a double-edged sword in ways, I used to always build my own sites and sell them on Flippa but this time thought of trying established sites as I had some money to spend.

Yes, I hear you - anything that saves some time and work has got to be a good thing. Best of luck and following :)

Just a Mid Month Update (Some good news & bads new):

Website 1 ($250 Cost)
Revenue May 1st to 16th May: $12.70

Website 2 ($130 Cost)
Revenue May 1st to 16th May: $33.68

Website 3 ($0 Cost)
Revenue May 1st to 16th May: $0.42

Website 4 ($0 Cost)
Revenue May 1st to 16th May: $0.41

Website 5 ($0 Cost)
Revenue May 1st to 16th May: $0.06

Total Revenue This Month: $47.27

Notes: All in All this is not bad and quite on track to what I expected initially, it is about half a month, so rough estimate for this month's earning would be $80 to $90.
$90 Revenue / $500 Cost is not bad this indicates I could make back my cost in 5 to 6 months. However some things to consider are that Website 1 has now improved a lot, revenue is much more higher, it has been increasing over the past few days and out of the last 3 days, I made $3.86 one day and $5.35 today so I would expect this to catch upto Website 2 fairly quick. Websites 3 to 5 are not too good in terms of Revenue, I have considered either selling these on Flippa or holding and using some paid form of SEO.

Hey, looking good. I'd probably hold and build up the SEO on the last 3 sites. Knowing Flippa fees and the aggro getting newbie buyers set up :D
