I am going to do 120 days journey from $3.5K/month current revenue to $20k/Month revenue using Pinterest.
At this moment I have an office space and two full time employees handling around 12 sites of different niches. I have around 10 more sites sitting idle, again of different niches including one amazon affiliate and two drop-shipping, one shopify niche based and one on woocommerce/wordpress (woocommerce is real headache, only recommended for peeps having considerable coding knowledge).
My strategy is to build niche based blogs use images from bloglovin/hometalk/weheartit and give source links for each image used.
Article are in the format “Top 20 Christmas nail ideas”, this is just example.
So we post list type articles, for each idea write few lines then give source links so users can view full details.
For topics I am using Google trends and Pinterest trends. I have already shared a post here how to find trending topics using Google trends here.

For those who don’t know about Pinterest trends, you can view them whenever you click search bar without writing anything, they keep on changing so whenever I login, I just try to make notes of trending topics, keep gathering them to use later for articles.

Regarding pinning style, I was posting to group boards + my own boards but now that is not working, by checking analytics of Pinterest I realized that group boards were showing very low impressions.
So now I am posting to my own profile boards, my profiles have followers in range 2k-10k. I got these followers naturally over time, no follow/unfollow. Group boards were big help, in start I used to post all random stuff on group boards, it increased monthly engagement significantly.
I also tried mass repining technique using tailwindapp and viraltag but it did not worked for me, I repined images like 40 times on several group boards in 30 days. But it didn’t worked.
So I had theory that pinterest would rank pins according to engagement, like it shows your pins to number of users say 1000, so in 1000 impressions if engagement is high i.e. more repins then it will be shown to more users even ranked to main pages.
So I made a brand new site and profile; posted article using trends and used highly engaging pictures. Like viral images (you can also find them using top Facebook viral magazines i.e buzzfeed).
And it worked my pins went viral though I had only 1 follower on my brand new profile.

So now my strategy is to build niche based blogs and use highly trending topics by careful analysis using Google trends.
My journey starts from December 20th, my average earnings for past 3 days has been $117.
I am using adsense along with optad360 for sticky footer ads and lockerdome which is giving me fixed CPM.
Also these stats include around $10/day from Amazon Affiliates.

This journey target is total revenue per month = $20000 which translates to $666.67/day
Right now my expense is around $300/month employees (one of the few perks of 3rd world country, cheap workers), and around $270/month hosting, vps, domains, proxies.
My next action is to set up 10 more sites of different niches, again these will be using trending topics. Start work on my two dropshipping sites.
Hire a developer in next 10 days and start work on php/html web 2.0 kind of site, I have seen potential in one niche and I want to set up a user sharing based website, with idea of Pinterest like theme but some uniqueness. I will also try to buy a general niche shopify store using shopify exchange offers and start promoting it like hell on Pinterest.

I will be updating this thread twice a week.

You forgot to mention how manny Pinterest accounts you got ;)

I am using one account for each website, like i said i tried doing mass repinning using multiple accounts but it did not worked, so now i am playing natural, posting to my own boards and using only one account for each website. At this moment i am working on 12 sites and posting to their 12 Profiles

I'm curious how this will work :)

Really enjoyed reading this and I'm also thinking to start something like this, also wanted to know what kind of stuff your two employees are currently doing?

@xpesos I enjoyed reading your write up. You appear to be on the right path. I will follow your journey keenly. Goodluck and please find time to always update us:)

1. Will you pin all the images from your article or just a collage made from them?
2. You modify the images to be "unique"?

Looking good.
Haven't checked Pinterest for some time now.

Will follow.

Good journey bro. However when i click the search i cant see the trending ideas. What is the problem?

Can you explain this part? You're using pictures from these websites on your blog? And what about the image on Pinterest? Is there just one image and then the visitor clicks on your blog link or is it a collage of all the pics instead?

Hey mate why are you using so many websites instead of building 1 authority site and promote this with several accounts?

A bit more interesting journey it is when it's linked to Amazon .... i have seen before a lot of the POD business with using Pinterest for free marketing but you did very well using amz affiliate as well ...... good luck your journey.... cheers!

Haven't seen a journey on pinterest from a while. Good luck
Following this.

employees are handling sites, first they post articles and then pin them to Pinterest daily, right now one has 5 and other has 6 sites

One article has 15-20 ideas, so i pin all the images, also make one tailored image file.
I was first using images from Pinterest, but now for few week, i am using from outside and results are better. It seems Pinterest glues any URL that first pins image to Pinterest, so whenever anyone uses already posted image from Pinterest, the reach is limited.
So i try to use fresh images from outside that are most probably not pinned.

yes using adsense too with other networks, i am using images from instagram/bloglovin/hometak most of the times source links are given, if not i just use the post link, i.e instagram post link
nice journey, so you are using Adsense too? how did you find the image source

it is working for me at this moment, BTW i have business account, that might be the issue, try switching to business and then check, pinterest.com/business

my article format is much like the articles in buzzfeed, collection of ideas

I worked on one authority site, and then made couple more to test. Seems like making more websites instead one works better. So now i am putting up a lot of sites.

Are you willing to teach me how to setup a site like this for a price?

Interesting journey - so you are not using any automation?....just a couple of VA's?.
