I have 2 websites that average 500 a month via Adsence. It took a while to get to that level and I believe it maxed out its earning potential. I was thinking of buying a website just shy of 10k that brings in 500 a month for the past 12 months via Adsence. That would finally take me over 1k a month with Adsence alone... I do have other IM revenues besides Adsence.

What should I be looking for when buying a established website like this? I know people in IM that buy websites to have in their portfolio and I would like to start doing the same to get me up to 5-10k a month to become self employed.

So what would you do with 10k? Again I'm trying to build a portfolio to have earnings between 5-10k a month.

Thanks

How about selling the product? You could list those product in banner in your adsense site.

I'd rather start a couple new sites and spend the money on each and build them up, rather than buying a site from someone who more than like inflated his numbers and possibly using PBNs or other links that will either get penalized or removed.

If you do buy one I would do your home work on it and make sure the stuff is real. Make sure they were not just blasting traffic to it and as soon as you buy it the traffic is gone.

Check backlinks, rankings and so on

My humble opinion is just to re-start. Since inception, you faced successes so why leverage unless you don't have time or any other value-added reasons (like spend time with family) etc.

Buying could be good but like others are saying, know your website that you are going to buy inside out so you don't buy yourself a headache. Easier said than done I suppose.

Congratulations on your hard work paying off.

If you are going to shell out $10K on a single site that earns $500/month make sure to check every single detail before you wire that money.

If it were my money I'd buy AdSense sites built up with lots of content on them and a decent design. If your aim is 5-10kpm then at your current rate that is 10-20 sites so let's say 15 which for arguments sake cost $250 each.

That's $3750 on money sites. I'd then build a PBN of 50 sites which could easily cost $2500. Some high auth links $1250, some manual link building and web 2.0s = $1500

And that leaves you with $1k for things like monthly hosting, any problems, design, content, social shares etc.

Depending on the sites and the keywords and CPC you should reach your minimum $5kpm goal.
