[$1000 / Day] eCommerce Journey

This is it right here! I have been reviewing a lot of the "Just pay shipping" stores and realized that it is a very short term strategy of creating a store. There is no brand building and a way to charge premium for a product by building a brand.

My goal is to create long-term success and nothing short term (hit it and quit it) lol.

I have not mastered a way to engage with groups but I have stared to join their interest page to understand how they engage. Although I am no were in my journey but I am learning tons and am sure its just a matter of time that things will fall into place.

Thank you for that advice. It was very much needed.

Look at all the popular posts in the groups and try your best to mimic it. You can also #trigger people, have a strong opinion on one side of an argument (vegans vs. meat eaters), and etc.

Keep going and trying every day and never give up. Things will start falling into place as you grind it out.

this is a goldmine right here. keep up the good work.

Thanks Asharvin66!

Good results, optimizing FB Ads gets harder every day in my opinion. Goodluck,

Everything is getting harder every day. This is the easiest time to build your empire. Old money is coming onto the internet now.

Great journey, will follow this for sure. Good information.

Thanks tglr. Hope to keep you around!

Hey mate, since im into ecommerce for a while, burned a lot on ads i've got some questions for you :)
1) General or niche targeted store?
2) Promoting videos or photos?
3) Do you run first PPE for couple of days then switch to PPC?
4) How much adsets you have and for example how you split them? How much money a day you put into each of them?

Those are some basic questions, if you feel free to answer them it's great if not im still following your progress!

  1. This is a niche targeted store in a large vertical.
  2. I promote videos with my FaceBook ads.
  3. I went over this in a previous reply in this thread. You can find my response here.
  4. Currently, I have 14 adsets. I'll be creating more over the next few days to test new things. Most of my adsets are for test and are budgeted at $5/$10. When I think that they'll do good, I recreate them at $20 and scale from there. Two adsets are currently at $50/day, while another two are at $20/day.

May I ask how large your target audience is?

I had great results with FB ads for a week or two with a 150k audience. I got 10 sales the first day with $5 PPE ad. But, the audience wasn't very large, so I could never really scale it. I tried re-create the audience but larger, but it didn't go well.

Anyway, keep it up & good luck! (Not that you seem to need it, you're doing really well so far!)

My target audience for most of my ads is between 15,000 to 200,000. I like to do my ads in small age gaps with specific interest and behaviors (hyper focused) to see what's really working. After that, I create a Lookalike audience and scale those ads. The lookalike audiences are in the 1 to 3 million for audiences.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Okay interesting, pretty much what I tried to do. Maybe I should give it another shot. Just one last follow up question, are you doing flex targeting to get it hyper focused? I had 4-5 "interest levels" deep on my audience, if that makes any sense.

Not gonna clutter your journey with any more questions, I was just amazed at your results. You're going to be at $1000/day soon, no doubt.

No worries about cluttering the journey. I bet there are others that have similar questions but are too shy to ask.
Yes, I'm doing flex targeting to hyper focus. This helps reduce a lot of tire kickers and bots clicking on my ads.

Thanks tglr! Hope to hit $1000/day soon.

Created some new ads that got conversions today, not much but I'm expecting it to pick up the next few days. If not, I'll be canceling and testing around until I do get it to convert nicely. The previous ones are doing better than my old ones. They're slightly under 2.00 ROAS (Return On Ad Spend) from what FaceBook is telling me. I'm about to hit the 7-day mark and keeping my hopes high for my pixel pool to re-optimize for conversions.

I made a new pin for Pinterest and shared it with a few groups, but nothing substantial yet. I feel like designing pins could be a college course on its own. Followers are steadily growing and I'm seeing more trickles coming in now.

For Adwords, I created 2 campaigns today. One of them started getting clicks shortly after the ad got approved. Will adjust it slightly tomorrow, but hold out until the day after as I created the campaigns towards the evening.

This is amazing work! Keep it up.

I hit reset on everything and started fresh. I was doing too much at the same time. After watching tons of YT videos, I am going step by step (starting with PPE) to better understand my targeting then switching to WC VC. I am going to use PPE data to isolate for my target market and the ad copy to use, then switch to WC.

Slow but steady.

How is AdWords performing for you?

That sounds like a solid plan and similar to what I did. I like to hit the reset every now and then when I feel like I'm going too much or am all over the place.

I stopped Adwords for now as I want to double down on what's working first (doing too much right now).

Sept 14, 2017

FaceBook has done some updates on their ad platform and now defaults to Power Editor. As well as their UI for web and mobile has changed and is very similar to Instagram (Guess they want to keep a "brand" feel). With these changes, I don’t want to change any of my ads yet. I want to see if it’s just a temporary thing before I create/delete ads. Hoping my hunch is right and everything will return to normal soon. If not, it's back to the creating new ads, creatives, and targeting.

I have been handling my FaceBook group and FaceBook page as well. Both of these are starting to require more and more actions as they grow. The FaceBook page is at 10k likes and the FaceBook group is at 4.3k members. Can no longer go through the motions and have to put in some more effort.

As everything grows, that leaves less room for me to do other stuff, and my days are starting to be a repeat of the previous. I’ll be looking to out source some things that I can’t spend the time learning for now.

Is that an eagle about to fuck up that white bird? What happened next?

Just Curious does your profit tab include price of product? Ie: Profit = revenue - (spent + cost of product) or is it Profit = Revenue - spent

What's up guys? I've been doing IM as a hobby for a while now and this was the year that I realized that this is what I want to do. Good old marketing and building businesses from nothing. If it wasn't for this forum, I never would have even stepped into this world.

This is my current business that I'm building and it's in its second month right now. The business was created back in April but there was a lot that needed to be done. Things like finding my target market, creating the products (yeah, this isn't an alibaba -> shopify dropship), and all that jazz.

The current plan is PPC, Social Media, and other marketing tactics that my competitors aren't doing. SEO isn't even a focus right now, I rather not ride that roller coaster again or rely on one traffic source... Funny thing, I'm getting some trickle of organic traffic anyways. Will focus on it after 1 year, since Google takes age into a consideration. I rather get the foundation done first.

Anyways, this is a Shopify website and my products right now are $1.xx. The average customer spends $4.xx on my store. Yup, that shit is cheap, but there's no shipping involved because everything is a digital download.

I'm looking to release a new product every week and some other types of content to help grow my email list and give existing customers / email subscribers content.

FaceBook ads are doing great. There are some ads that I think I’m going to have to cut as the ROI on them isn’t good. Either going to redo them or duplicate and increase the budget by $5. Maybe I’m not reaching enough people for it to convert. The new ads I made last night are going great. I think I’m going to start all my WC ads with this setting (optimize for link clicks until it has enough data to optimize for conversions). Created another ad creative and mobile ads for another product. See how this one will do over the next few days.

I know, I say that SEO is yucky a lot, but it’s still a vital part of online marketing. I would be a fool to ignore all the targeted traffic I can get. I checked SEMRush and new keywords have appeared as well as some have jumped right to the second page. Fantastic, all these social sharing have been doing great for building me natural backlinks. I did some blog commenting on related blogs to funnel some traffic and had links pointing to the homepage of my website. All brand anchors and not in the actual comment but the Username instead.

Replied to customer emails and applied some feed back to the store as well. Some of the products needed to have their description re-worded as it confused me. If it confused me, I’m 100% sure a customer would have been confused as well.

Did an email campaign for the newest product added to the store as well. I’ve been aiming to email my list at least once a week. I only ever email them to give them updates or let them know about new products and discount. Got a few instant sales and more should trickle throughout the week.

Earnings
Spent: $201.19
Revenue: $430.63
Profit: $229.44
