1 Backlink Ranking

Hey, question for you seo gurus. This website is 3 years old and I know backlinks can be hidden but how the hell is this website ranking with 1 backlink for 100s of keywords. Yeah the search volume isn't high, from 20-6K per month with some $9 CPC. This website looks like there are great articles written with about 40 post. I know they're are not hiding their backlinks because the website isn't updated frequently and the guys picture is on his website and I checked his FB page and he has nothing to do with IM. He dis this website as a hobby because he has this problem that the website is about. According to semrush their are around 3K for organic traffic and 1 backlink. If this website is not really updated and no seo cost and articles once and a while I would take that small passive income. He is monetizing it with CB, adsnse and amazon. I'm think a niche that is not competitive?

What tool are you using to check the backlinks? It sounds like they may just not be showing through that tool.

As you said, the backlinks are being hidden....

hard to tell when one can't research the site and what is going on, but it could be becouse of internal links, just a guess though

Ok I was looking at semrush and now I looked at ahrefs and it shows 42 backlings and 16 referring domains and domain rating is 23.

There's your answer. Researching backlinks is a tricky process and can often be misleading.

Use more than one tool while researching backlinks, OP. Just my 2 cents for you.
