$0.70 Per Real Youtube Subscriber Worth It?

A friend of mine has decided to invest his money on my youtube channel after learning about the potential business that can be run using the youtube platform. With my experience in Adwords for youtube I am able to achieve a rate of $0.7 for a real youtube subscriber who is genuinely interested in my content.


Lets say we invest $20,000 in this. We will achieve a minimum of 30,000 subscribers. I am positive that it will be more because I am sure videos will go viral occasionally.

Do you think it is a good idea? Of course the niche I am in doesn't give the opportunity to make a living from just 30,000 subs but we can use that as a base to accelerate the channel building process.

Please I want to hear all opinions it is greatly appreciated.

Whenever I start a thread about youtube I barely get replies. Come on people we need to start gaining a little more experience with white hat youtube strategies.
 
This totally depends on niche and the kind of video content you have on your channel and they way you monetize it. You are not giving enough information.
However I think you can get 30k targeted subs for less than $20,000. Shoutouts etc work on youtube too and are much cheaper, just research influencers in your niche and get in touch with them.

You are totally right and you just sparked an idea in my mind. There are actually about a dozen channels which are popular in this niche. It wasn't the best idea to start out with something which holds such competition. I have managed to pull 2500 subscribers so far. The niche is popular and competitors proved that it could become a business.

Adsense is the main source of income here but if the channel reaches a point where merchandise can be sold though it(shirts and so) that will also be another huge income source.

About the shoutout, it seems that I am not worth any of my competitors time since most of them would consider what you are offering them pocket money so could you please share any experience you had with paying for recognition this way?

Not yet, we are waiting until the channel gains some recognition. Currently adsense will be the main source of income.

In my opinion it isn't worth it if you aren't selling products. But you can use that 20k to buy shoutouts although I have never heard of anyone buying shoutouts on YouTube.

You could get 100k or even million subscribers for that.

Think of that as FB likes maybe, you can invest in FB advertising and get 0.01 per USA like, so you would get 2 million likes to page if done right. So which is better 30k worthless subscribers who would get you maybe $100 income a week or 2 million likes in FB that can generate $10k/week
 
I wouldn't do it if i was you, that's a lot of money and you can invest it in something else beside YT but if you wanna work on YT then don't buy Subs with that amount of money, think longer and you will find some even relevant ideas that can give you x20 of that amount of Subs that you wanna get.
 
I think this is not a good idea to buy like that on that price. You can do even better with other method.
 
That's too pricey bro! I'd rather invest a few k in some semi/viral videos since you'll probably get more subs that way besides a high chance to recoup the amount invested (from adsense) if a video goes viral. Of course that's almost like gambling but still better than paying $20k for 30k subs (a channel with 30k subs that posts videos frequently makes around $500/month - give or take - from adsense depending on the niche so I wouldn't invest $20k in something that yields about 2% per month)
 
That seems like a lot per sub.

If there targeted towards your videos then no problem.
 
You can do as like exampl said above. That's much for 1 subscriber. You can try that for getting 1-2K subscriber. I think if your contents are really helpful to the people in your niche then you don't need to invest more, you will get subscribers and views naturally.

Would you mind sharing how I can get 100,000 subs with that amount. And plus I tried facebook advertising I was never able to achieve 0.01 for a like. Plus facebook is a gamble I've heard of endless stories of people getting their popular pages deleted without warning.

Please share any ideas you have. I still don't know of many other ways to gain subscribers.
 
How about paying someone to rank your videos and that way you gain targeted subscribers more quickly, theres people who can rank your video on fiverr. Also you can start getting fake subs to make other people think your popular.
 
Its totally depends on your niche , but i suggest you to try it out with with 100 or 200 . Later if it is converting then go ahead and invest bunch in it else depends on your niche to gain reputation go ahead with it.

Thanks for the suggestion but I will not risk buying anything that is fake.

The thing with youtube + adsense is that we are relying on long term success. We can actually see progress with little amounts, it is not like PPC where you split test different campaigns and observe and learn from the outcome in real time. I know we potentially could make huge profit if we invest in PPC but there is a huge learning curve and the money is not mine. I can't risk someone else's months of hard work trying something new that I have on experience in whatsoever.
 
a better and cheaper way would be to find a google+ scrapper may be you find it for 50 dollars MAX, go to your competitors videos and the comment section run the bot and make a list of those google+ accounts and use that scrapper to then follow every single one of them and ofcourse you can email these G+ profiles even, not only will these be REAL people but also targetted groups of people that will follow your content cause they are watching same Niche day in day out on your competitors channels, also additionally you will have an ability to interact with so many people cause remember Youtube is a social platform not just posting videos i seen people really just focussing on commenting on other channels videos all the time even other people's google+ profiles this creates that community feel to it you should try it. If you find a cheap google+ bot please let me know as well cheers
