Create a PBN in 2025 / 2026, still worth it ?

Building your own PBN can still work, but it’s risky and costly. I would love to focus on safer link-building methods. If I did build one, I’d use it only for my own sites, not for others.
Thanks for your response! Do you think PBNs are really not a safe way to build backlinks? If it is detected by Google or others SE, then all your hardwork is gone?

Would you put the effort and money nowadays into building your own?
And if so, would you use it only for your websites or also do sponsored articles for others?
Yes its worth ;)

still worth it if you’re serious about SEO long term the control you get over anchor text, timing and link placement is hard to replicate any other way.

A PBN will just give you a bunch of sites to control and point links to your money sites from. If they are all setup individually and uniquely it shouldn't be detectable and once it is setup you get a clean lifetime link for a small fee every year (per pBN site).

I say PBNs are still strong in 2026.

Having a network of properties that you have 100% control of and can that even potentially bring in their own revenue depending on how much effort you want to put into them? Sounds exponentially better than fishing for guest posts.

PBNs can still work in 2025/2026 if they’re built carefully with clean expired domains, unique hosting, real looking content and proper relevance !

The problem is most people cut corners and that’s usually what gets networks devalued or detected....

I've seen successful PBNs in recent years, but they tend to be treated like real websites rather than link farms.
The barrier to doing it properly is much higher now.
Cutting corners usually shows up sooner or later.

I think PBN is worth it. If you have casino clients, specially casino clients.

i guess the biggest question is whether u are starting fresh or already have a few aged domains sitting around. buying everything from scratch makes the whole thing more expensive nd there’s no guarantee the links will keep their value. i would be curious to hear if anyone has compared the long term results with investing the same budget in content nd outtreach.

It depends on your goals. you want to building PBNs for your own money sites or to sell links?
Yes PBNs works but it also depends on your budget and how carefully you manage them.

PBN links definitely work. If you want, you can also do parasite SEO. You can even build an entire self hosted empire a complete blog network. I personally have a free hosting blog network with over 200 accounts. The most important thing is, no matter what route you take, you need to have push up links for tier 2 and tier 3. Otherwise, that ecosystem the backlink profile environment jjust won't build up. That's exactly what a lot of people miss. Because of that, whether you go with self-hosted, free hosting, parasite, or PBN, push up links are absolutely mandatory.

I think it depends on the long-term goals and budget. Maintaining a PBN takes ongoing work, and the risk can outweigh the benefits. I'd rather invest in relevant website, quality content, and genuine backlinks that can bring both rankings and referral traffic over time.

I think it can still be worth it, but only if you know what you're doing and have the budget to maintain it properly. The costs add up pretty quickly, especially for domains, hosting, and content.

Personally, I'd use it mainly for my own sites. Selling sponsored posts might help cover some costs, but it also means more work and less control over the network

It seem to me it all depends on how much time and money you are willing to invest in maintenance. Domain names and hosting services are very expensive nd you will have to maintain those sites anyways. Instead of that, I prefer to use the network for my own projects and avoid this extra effort of link selling.

PBNs absolutely work in 2026 and will work in 2027.

Believe me, we have over 500+ PBNs handling in a single niche and if u setup properly be patient and make ur links at the right time, u stay on top with all the updates.

You must not focus on only expired domains with high DR. You must focus on domain history, its referring domains, anchor texts, traffic history and its spam status

And u must never sell links if u want to make ur PBN highly private or else u may have additional risk.

And u must not depend on PBN alone for the main link strategy ad ur main link building strategy.

Hope that helps.

i dont agree with that. expired domains can still work really well if they are rebuilt properly and kept close to the context of the old site

there is no exact formula though. some of them recover a lot of their previous authority while others end up doing almost nothing. i still get good results from expired domains quite often across the networks i build
