I'm trying to learn digital marketing and there are so many areas like SEO, paid ads, content marketing, email marketing, etc. I'm a bit unsure where to start. If you were starting from scratch today, which skill would you focus on first and why?

Personally video editing, some people might say Ai is going to change everything. But reality is different, even the avg video editors are making good money. Content and email marketing is not future proof. Just my personal opinion.

That's an interesting take. I hadn't really considered video editing as a starting point, but it makes sense. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

My top priority will be startng with seo because it teaches how people search and how websites get traffic. Learning keyword research content writing and basic site seo before moving into paid ads or email marketing will be best move and 1ce you understand seo one can build real projects and use that skill in many areas.

I’d start with SEO. It teaches search intent, content, keywords, and how people find businesses online. After that, paid ads are much easier to understand.

SEO, especially in terms of search intent, keywords, and technical knowledge, would be the first thing I’d work on.

When you know how people search, what search engines consider relevant, authoritative, and good content, everything else like paid advertising and content marketing falls into place.

And really riding that quick algorithmic loophole is like printing money until the day the core update happens. And then it was just scrambling from there.

Paid Ads. Always an edge if you can sell
For every dollar spent, you should be able to make more than a dollar

analytics would be the area where i begin bcz there is no difficulty in posting content or advertising. the difficult part comes in understanding y something works or does not work. if i m able to understand how users behave through numbers, then the rest of my markketing skills will become clearer.

i'd pick content marketing first. if you can research a topic write something useful and understand what people want you've got a solid base.

Start with SEO/content marketing if starting from scratch. It helps you understand searches, making content useful, and gaining traffic.
Once you understand that, adding paid ads, email, or social becomes much easier.

seo basics first even if you move into ads or content later knowing search intent keywords and why pages rank will help a lot

Having the capabilities to run (BH/GH niche) ads can be a goldmine these days, there’s always demand for agencies that can set up stable campaigns and the %s are pretty generous.

i'd probably start with SEO. it teaches you a lot about search intent, content, keywords and how people actually find things online.

With AI, you should learn a bit of everything, starting with Paid Ads since those can drive traffic faster.

I’d say creating a digital product then audience research, content, email marketing, sales funnels, and conversions.

start off by learning paid advertising and video editing. paid traffic provides you with direct positioning, plus conversion rates, while short vd would help you connect with your target audience. all other techniques, including seo nd email marketing, revolve around the above two techniques.

ads/copywriting, perhaps. you receive instant feedback in terms of conversion nd proof in the case of ads, whereas copywriting will teach you how to sell irrespective of traffic.

If I were starting from scratch, I'd focus on SEO first because it helps you understand how websites attract organic traffic and build long-term visibility. Once you get comfortable with SEO, learning content marketing, paid ads and email marketing becomes much easier.
