[CASE STUDY] How I Made $8,686.15 Profit In 22 Days From Adult Media Buying

Alright I'm almost ready to start.

Did some digging over the weekend and got me following setup:

- Cloudhosting for my LP domains. Got 1 domain each for dating and cams.
- Adplexity to spy on ads that work well currently (got adplexity push).
- Crakrevenue Account ready to go, already reached out to my aff manager asking for some guidance.
- Tracker: I've settled for LandingTrack - Can't be arsed yet to spend huge amounts on Voluum (the cheapest one is $199/mo and only lets you track 20 campaigns) - Still have to wait or LandingTrack to give me my free trial (apparently you can't just whip out your plastic and just let them bill you after 14 days).

I will do push-ads in the beginning, focusing on dating. Considered doing cams first, but popunders/banners appear to be the better source for cams.

Why push-ads? Traffic is fairly cheap and it reckon it's a good way to get familiar with your tracker and analyzing traffic, optimizing audiences etc. (will be using push house, plugrush and richads to buy the traffic from btw).

My current ad budget is about $1.5k/month to get started. I'll probably end up spending way less going the push-ad route initially (and lose most of it).

Once I'm somewhat familiar with the whole process, I'll plan to move on to banners on TJ promoting cams, and keep dating on push-ads on the side.

Assuming I'm a complete noob, would dating-smartlinks be a decent option as entry? Are LPs still the preferred way to go about smartlinks. I'm kinda torn because the LP might not always match with the offer the smartlink redirects the ppl to (might try to run a campaign with and without LP)?

Will see how it goes, might actually start a journey thread later on.
Cool to see others inspired by @oni3350 , and you should definitely start your own journey thread, I’d surely follow it. Do you have any prior experience with CPA and media buying?

Thanks for the kind words. No, I have 0 experience with CPA nor media buying.

I used to run a crypto brokerage in the UK back in the golden yrs from 2015-2018 and made most of my money from manual arbitrage (long dead since late 2019).

I've been trying to find something new ever since, but I haven't found it yet. The thing I've always struggled with the most is getting traffic (maybe I'm just too impatient to stick with any free traffic strategy until the results actually show). This thread inspired me because at the bottom level it's nothing different than some kind of arbitrage. You buy something for cheaper than you sell it for. It's what I always loved, maybe I can make it work.

I'll get the journey thread going eventually. Currently working a normie job, so I rather spend my time on getting the ball rolling first before I start posting.

Does anyone know if it's possible to run your ads only on certain porn videos? For example, on YouTube, you can select certain videos you want your ad to run.
Or is it possible to track from which video URLs your visitors come?

No it’s not possible

Its not possible for absolute specific videos....

The closest thing you can do is, category target on Traffic Factory and keyword target on Traffic Junky.

You can't track data from specific video URLs either, but networks do allow you to pass back keyword/category data to your tracking, so you can get a bit of an idea which are the most profitable for you.

Very interesting experiment, I wonder how the CPM/CPC rates have changed since 2022

Have somebody ever tried to promote male enhancement offers on tube sites? IF yes, how much budget is needed for start?

Yes, these offers can work well.

Because these are generally PPS offers, meaning they will pay you a higher amount when a user spends money on the product, you will need more ad budget to test until you get sales. Around $400-$500 per day is a good amount to shoot for.

amazing bro, stats to prove, and showing dedication.

I know this one is a bit old, but I thought I'd replace some of the really old sticky threads across the forum with newer ones, so I stickied this thread.

Thank you for sharing with the community. :)

These are very good threads, thanks.

Great case study — even though this is from a while back, the core principles still hold. The key takeaway for anyone reading this in 2026: paid traffic + proper tracking + aggressive optimization = profitability. That hasn't changed.
What HAS changed since this was posted:
1. Traffic costs went up across the board — especially for tier 1 GEOs in the adult vertical. The same approach now works better in tier 2-3 countries where CPMs are still dirt cheap and competition is low.
2. Tracking got more important, not less. With cookie deprecation and privacy changes, server-side tracking (S2S postbacks) is now mandatory. If you're still relying on pixel-based tracking, you're losing data on 20-30% of your conversions.
3. Pre-landers became essential. Direct linking to an offer used to work fine. Now, especially on pop traffic, you need a pre-lander to warm up the user and filter out accidental clicks. This alone can double your CR.
For anyone starting media buying today — this case study is a perfect template of the right mindset. Start small, track everything, kill losers fast, scale winners slowly. The vertical might change but the process is timeless.
