I would love to go by the email marketing. That's too personal and very impressive in building strong relationships.

I'd probably focus on email lists and communities first Those are traffic sources you have more control over and arent as dependent on algorithm changes.
 
I would focus on social media. It is the fastest way to reach people, build an audience and bring traffic without dependent on Google.
 
for me it's email + communities. Social media is great for reach, but you're still at the mercy of the platform. A strong email list and active community give you traffic you actually own.

I think everyone should build active community around the brand so that they can get engagement and direct traffic in case of google stops sending traffic.

Some of the way to build community is to organise webinars, live events, create great content on social media while interacting with audienceses.
 
Curious hypothetical there. If business daddy disappeared tomorry, I'd probably just build an audience I can interact with directly rather than finding a replacement or substittute.
A lot of good SNS to leverage off of and if all else fails, good ol' email.
 
the thing people skip when they swap google for "social" is intent. search converts because someone's actively looking - an IG feed isn't the same buyer even at the same numbers. so if google vanished i'd go to the other pull channels first: youtube (it's a search engine), pinterest, reddit/forum search, and an email list people actually opted into. broadcast social would be last - it's rented and low-intent. you can't 1:1 replace 1000 search visits with 1000 feed impressions, so plan around capturing intent, not just reach.
 
yeah exactly. the bit most people put off is capturing that intent while google's still sending it - a simple email opt-in on your top-traffic pages now means the owned channel is already built before you ever need it. and youtube's the sweet spot imo, it's search-intent AND you keep the subscriber list, so it doubles as discovery and owned audience at the same time.

I would go hard on Reddit and niche communities first. They can send really targeted traffic fast if you provide value and dont spam.
 
I would say AI search, im pretty sure in this AI era if google vanished AI companies would break their backs to replace a product that 98% of the whole planet is using. They have funds and traffic and they would push very hard to make this a new norm
 
First thing would be email and community. Social can work, but your still depending on another platform’s algo. For most businesses, the safest setup is search traffic, email list, returning visitors, social presence and some kind of community or referral channel.

Google/ AI organic traffic is good, but relying on only one source is always risky.
 
If google disappeared tomorrow, I would focus on niche relevant communities or forums like reddit, quora, etc along with email marketing. I think replying on a single traffic source is risky nowadays. Building traffic from multiple channels is much safer in the long run.

I would get my traffic through Pinterest and bing.
