I have around that number of pages yeah (I don't consider them articles since my website is more of a tool/utility site rather than a typical blog)

Try enriching top-performing pages with unique data points, FAQs, or comparisons to avoid thin content patterns.

Also, watch GSC for queries where you’re getting impressions but low CTR; optimizing those pages can often give faster wins than creating new ones.
 
Good job so far. So it's a tool with some content, but the traffic source isn't Google, you went viral on reddit.

That's how everybody does it nowadays, with social traffic, because SEO is still dead.

Are you building a newsletter too? You plan to flip it this year?

Yeah 100% agree. I’ve been keeping an eye on GSC and there are already a few queries with impressions but low CTR, so I’ll probably optimize those first before pushing more pages.

Appreciate it man, that honestly means a lot coming from you. I actually followed your journey thread back in the day and learned quite a bit from it and it was the main reason why I started getting into blogging and content sites in general, so it’s kinda crazy seeing you reply here now.

And yeah, Reddit has been a big driver for me. I had a couple posts go viral early on, so I’ve been doubling down on that angle instead of relying purely on Google.
For this type of site, a newsletter doesn’t really fit (at least not in an obvious way), since it’s more utility-based and people just come, use it, and leave.
As for flipping, I’m not really planning to sell it. It’s pretty low maintenance and I like the idea of keeping it as a steady extra income stream rather than cashing out early.

Wow! I'm glad I contributed to your success. Yeah, I just happened to catch a good moment when blogging was still easy, but what you're doing is much harder, I was only writing some articles for 0 comp keywords, still can't believe how easy it was.

Yeah I get what you mean, my first site was pretty easy to scale as well compared to this one. Things definitely feel a bit different now.
Curious what you’re working on these days. Did you go more into the newsletter side of things or something completely different from content sites?

Went back to freelancing last year. Just when I thought I got out of the matrix they pulled me back right in.

About content sites, I kept hoping there will be a new method, that someone will discover a new way to make it work and it will become a trend on bhw, but nothing so far, closest thing is pinterest + blog, but only korni is clearly winning at that, so idk.

First of all, the website is slowly finding its place on the SERPs and the traffic is starting to increase again after the usual starting slump.

I've promoted the website on Reddit and it kinda went viral. This is good not only for diversifying traffic right off the bat which is very important in the era of AI (I'm starting to get a lot of direct traffic A.K.A people that are actively searching for my website on Google) but also to give a good signal to Google and reach that high authority level.

As you can see, Google is slowly starting to index my pages which is a good thing. I expect to reach 1000 indexed pages by the end of the month.

What I'm planning to do next:
- The first thing I'm gonna do is add more pages to the website (around 300 more)
- I'm also planning to promote the website on other subreddits to slowly difersify the traffic and gain more traction
- Wait for Google to do its thing and bring more traffic to my website

I’m building an online tools website available in 9 languages. During the first month, I managed to get around 500 pages indexed, but my growth path looks quite different from yours.


I’m very interested in learning more about how you promoted your site on Reddit:


  • What worked best for you?
  • Which subreddits brought the most value?
  • Did you focus on posting your tools directly, answering questions, or building relationships first?

Also, do you offer any consulting or promotion services? If so, I’d be interested in hearing more about them.

Hey @hommixo Before you getting accepted by Journey, did you implement any cookie banner though? Once I implemented a Consent Mode v2 method though, and obviously it shows 40 sessions less than compared to what Umami Analytics shows. Do you think Journey Mediavine would understand this correlation between the cookie and cookieless stuffs or do they strictly follow only GA4's final outcomes?

Call it laziness, I call it efficiency. I think the bigger problem is building a website that doesn't work just to feel like you put in some work.

Isn't BHW for learning others' methods? Reinventing the wheel is redundant. Just put a spin on what already works.

Yes, what you said is correct, but do you think people would share their tactics here unless if its already a saturated one tho, people said its hard to run a blog in 2026 (and, some said its impossible), but I still generate 5000 - 7k views with a new blog.

Yes but I can generate more views tomorrow starting with a new blog, it's revenue that matters not views.

Nobody will spoon feed ofc (some exceptions), but back in 2020 I learned a lot of things from posts here which worked in practice. Nowadays I see that most of the successful guys from that period have moved to better endeavors and blogging is scarce now.
