totally fair question, this part can be a bit confusing at the beginning.

honestly, it depends a lot on the country you’re in. some carriers offer better plans depending on the region, so there’s no single “best” one to go for.

in terms of speed, it’s usually not the main factor. most carriers today sit around a similar range for this kind of usage. what tends to matter more is data limits, overall stability, and how strict they are with heavy or repeated usage patterns.

i’ve seen setups working fine with big carriers, and others doing better with smaller ones just because they’re a bit more relaxed.

if you’re just getting started, I’d go with whatever is easiest for you to get locally and test from there. once you see how it behaves, you can always adjust and optimize.

to do the test you need a normal PC, 16GB of RAM is enough, and some phones.
After the test, if you're going to build it for real, it depends on the size you want and how many channels you're going to handle.

How powerful can 40 mobiles really be if we think of it as 1 mobile = 1 view? (I guess that’s what you’re suggesting.)


When videos are already getting 2–3k genuine views, would those extra 40 farm views really be enough for the algorithm to boost the video? And if yes, is that only beginner-friendly, or can advanced users benefit from it too?

What most people misunderstand is that a phone farm does not work with the same logic as SMM panels.
Years ago, YouTube was much more metric-based.
Back then, simply pushing raw views could move videos.
Today the system is way more behavior-driven.
YouTube looks at how users behave, what type of content they interact with, watch history, session behavior, interests, retention patterns, etc.
So the value of 30 or 40 devices is not really “40 extra views”. Numerically, that changes almost nothing on a channel already doing 2k or 3k views.
The important part is the signals those accounts send to the algorithm.
If those users consistently interact with a certain type of content, YouTube starts understanding what audience profile is reacting positively to your videos.
That helps the platform test your content with more relevant real users outside the farm.

That’s why farms can still move channels even with relatively small numbers.
The impact is indirect.
The real growth usually comes from the new organic viewers YouTube starts pushing your content to afterward.
And yes, advanced users benefit from this too.

Having a farm of 50-100 niche based accounts is more than enough to push a video into the algorithm. 50-100 accounts are more than enough to get high CTR, high retention and engagement on the video in the first 1-2 days of it being posted.
YouTube will then boost the impressions very fast to real people in that same niche, and if those real people the video is recommended to respond well (click on thumbnail, watch majority of video, engagements) the video will then snowball from there.
still need a good video, thumbnail and title for a viral or semi viral video in whatever niche you're in.
