[JOURNEY] Growing an Authority Website Through Programmatic SEO in the Era of AI

Hello everybody, I hope y'all are having an amazing start of the year.

Background:
I already have experience with growing websites using programmatic SEO and I already sold one back in 2023 for low 5 figures so I know what works and what doesn't.
I want to challenge myself in the era of AI where everybody says that SEO is dead and show that if you pick the right niche and the right audience, you can still easily grow a website and earn good money from it through ads.

The Plan:
I already coded the site structure and generated all the relevant pages on of the niches (800+ pages), created the sitemap, bought the domain name, and published everything to Google and I'm already starting to see the first glimpse of traffic.
The goal is to reach at least 10k pageviews per month, apply to Mediavine to start earning money, and scale the website to 1K a month on the first year.

What I'm Planning to do Next:
The niche that I picked has a lot of sub-niches that I can experiment with, so I will generate the next set of pages on one of the sub-niches to expand the website's reach and grow the initial traffic even more.

When you say you “published everything to Google”, how did you approach that with so many pages?
Did you just push the site live and submit the sitemap, or was there anything else you did to help Google pick up the pages early on?


Also, with 800+ pages, did you launch everything at once or gradually?


Would love to hear a bit more about that part, since that’s usually where things get tricky with programmatic sites.

You can easily publish a ton of pages at once if you know what you're doing.

The trick here is to interlink all the pages in your website. In other words, my homepage links to all the pages in my website which helps Google's crawler pick them up quickly and I do the same for all my other pages (everything links to everything).

And yes, I launched everything all at once and I'm currently working on adding another 600 pages.
 
Weekly Update #1

A lot has happened since my last update!
First of all, the website is slowly finding its place on the SERPs and the traffic is starting to increase again after the usual starting slump.

I've promoted the website on Reddit and it kinda went viral. This is good not only for diversifying traffic right off the bat which is very important in the era of AI (I'm starting to get a lot of direct traffic A.K.A people that are actively searching for my website on Google) but also to give a good signal to Google and reach that high authority level.

As you can see, Google is slowly starting to index my pages which is a good thing. I expect to reach 1000 indexed pages by the end of the month.

What I'm planning to do next:
- The first thing I'm gonna do is add more pages to the website (around 300 more)
- I'm also planning to promote the website on other subreddits to slowly difersify the traffic and gain more traction
- Wait for Google to do its thing and bring more traffic to my website
 
Interesting journey.
You said that you generate the pages, but is it simply "placeholder" pages, which you then update with actual content later, or do you fully generate articles and mass publish them?

Im feeling the itch of doing something again, and im struggling between making a niche site or trying something new like YouTube automation.

No, they’re fully generated pages that get published at scale, not placeholders.

The site isn’t a classic blog with long-form articles. It’s closer to a semi-tool / utility-style site where each page has a clear purpose, answers a specific intent, and fits into a larger structured system. So generation + publishing is the core, not “publish now, edit later.”
 
Weekly Update #2
Things moved faster than I expected this week.
The site is already close to 2k pageviews, which honestly happened much sooner than I thought it would. What’s even more interesting is the traffic breakdown: around 70% is direct traffic, with organic making up the rest. In the current AI/search landscape, that’s exactly what I want to see. People are actively typing the URL, coming back, and actually using the site, which is a strong signal in my opinion.

Indexation is also moving in the right direction. Around 400 pages are already indexed, and I’m expecting organic traffic to start picking up as more pages get crawled and settled.

What’s next
For now, I’ll keep expanding the site. The niche is pretty broad and there’s still a lot of ground to cover, so adding more pages makes the most sense at this stage.
I’ll update again next week once things mature a bit more.

I did today, and, hopefully another one more update this month, after that I'll switch on to monthly-mode. :(
 
Weekly Update #3
Another solid week, and things are definitely moving in the right direction.

Traffic is growing rapidly across the board. On the analytics side, I’m now sitting at around 3.8k pageviews and the month is still not over yet. Bounce rate is around 57%, which I’m pretty happy with considering the site is still new and heavily programmatic.

From Search Console, impressions are climbing nicely (2.6k impressions) with 159 clicks so far and an average position around 12–13. Nothing crazy yet, but it’s exactly what you’d expect at this stage. More pages are getting indexed and visibility is slowly expanding. So far, I'm heavily relying on direct traffic to grow this website while organic picks up the pace.

What’s motivating me the most is that I’m already almost halfway to the 10k pageviews goal needed to apply for Mediavine Journey. For a site this young, that’s a big milestone in my eyes and makes monetization feel a lot more realistic in the short term.

This week I also pushed a new batch of programmatic pages, and I’m not slowing down on that. The niche still has a lot of depth, so expansion is still the main focus rather than tweaking or optimizing too early.

Overall, growth feels healthy and natural. Still early days, but so far everything is lining up the way I hoped it would. More updates coming as things develop.

That's awesome, i have two question based on you experience at growing a new website do you recommend to buy a pop ads to get signals to google? is that work?.

are you using expired domain or fresh one.
