Both articles are rather old and neither have had backlinks built to them for a while. I do know that there was someone who posted backlinks to the negative articles in an attempt at negative SEO (client hired someone else before me).

I actually focus on article submissions, video sites. There may be a couple of shitty backlinks, I don't think they are hurting me because the site I linked to shows up on the front page as well (from being on the second page).

I have done no negative SEO. EDIT: Actually, the client hired someone before me and they did a ton of negative SEO on the articles. Didn't work well at all.
