Hello everybody,
I'd like to discuss with you some tests I did buying some traffic to a website of mine with viral posts on (galleries and interesting things).
So, my website has 3 banners AdSense 300x250 into the single posts and some other banners (same size) on the homepage and category pages. I never put too much effort in this since it was just a side project and in the last month I just got few bucks out of it.
One day I was checking on MaxVisits.com (I am a reseller, I bought there sometimes their packages) and I saw the feature "Traffic Wizard" and I tried it. You can add funds (min. 25$) and set up you campaign, filtering bots and suspects ips, filtering by countries and some other options as you can see in the image below:
You can create 4 different type of campaigns:
1) display ads
2) pops
3) verified audience
4) audience
The first days I just created a couple of campaign without any spending limit, just filtering USA and excluding all malicious bots and enable the forensiq risk score.
I start getting a lot of traffic from hundreds of different referrals (350+), the majority of those are fake website.
This is a snapshot of real time when I started a couple of campaign:
The first days I got ROI average of 233%, just amazing.
It was too good to be true. So I recorded some thousands of visits using SmartLook and I checked some of those. The majority of the visitors were using windows and internet explorer and the mouse movements where clearly done from bots.
I thought that these bots could move the mouse and every a random amount of seconds click on the page. In this way, for the rule of big numbers, after a X amount of random clicks they click also on my AdSense, can be? I mean, in the first days I got a good CTR (3 - 4%) so it wasn't too much to be on G00gle's radar and this is why at the end of the day no one banned me or take back the money.
But then something happened, the ROI started decreasing until I start getting a negative ROI as you can see in the screenshot below:
Look at the ROI on 8th and 9th of April, just amazing. Way too much in my opinion.
The first days I just bought POPS traffic that costs 0.002 per visit.
In the last days I start using Verified Audience traffic with an average of 0.005 per visit. I am using the verified audience because the provider told me is better when I make money with AdSense.
Said so, do you know what could have happened here? How is it possible that the first days I got that damn huge ROI and lately I am in negative? Have you already had any experience with MaxVisits and this Traffic Wizard service?
I also bought 50 € of traffic at cpmoz.com but this one seems very bad to me.
I just want to see if I should continue with this strategy to buy traffic there and make some money with this method or if better no.
