Hello everybody,
I'd like to discuss with you some tests I did buying some traffic to a website of mine with viral posts on (galleries and interesting things).

So, my website has 3 banners AdSense 300x250 into the single posts and some other banners (same size) on the homepage and category pages. I never put too much effort in this since it was just a side project and in the last month I just got few bucks out of it.

One day I was checking on MaxVisits.com (I am a reseller, I bought there sometimes their packages) and I saw the feature "Traffic Wizard" and I tried it. You can add funds (min. 25$) and set up you campaign, filtering bots and suspects ips, filtering by countries and some other options as you can see in the image below:

You can create 4 different type of campaigns:
1) display ads
2) pops
3) verified audience
4) audience

The first days I just created a couple of campaign without any spending limit, just filtering USA and excluding all malicious bots and enable the forensiq risk score.

I start getting a lot of traffic from hundreds of different referrals (350+), the majority of those are fake website.

This is a snapshot of real time when I started a couple of campaign:

The first days I got ROI average of 233%, just amazing.
It was too good to be true. So I recorded some thousands of visits using SmartLook and I checked some of those. The majority of the visitors were using windows and internet explorer and the mouse movements where clearly done from bots.
I thought that these bots could move the mouse and every a random amount of seconds click on the page. In this way, for the rule of big numbers, after a X amount of random clicks they click also on my AdSense, can be? I mean, in the first days I got a good CTR (3 - 4%) so it wasn't too much to be on G00gle's radar and this is why at the end of the day no one banned me or take back the money.

But then something happened, the ROI started decreasing until I start getting a negative ROI as you can see in the screenshot below:

Look at the ROI on 8th and 9th of April, just amazing. Way too much in my opinion.

The first days I just bought POPS traffic that costs 0.002 per visit.
In the last days I start using Verified Audience traffic with an average of 0.005 per visit. I am using the verified audience because the provider told me is better when I make money with AdSense.

Said so, do you know what could have happened here? How is it possible that the first days I got that damn huge ROI and lately I am in negative? Have you already had any experience with MaxVisits and this Traffic Wizard service?

I also bought 50 € of traffic at cpmoz.com but this one seems very bad to me.
I just want to see if I should continue with this strategy to buy traffic there and make some money with this method or if better no.

From your analytics screenshot its 100% bot traffic, because its almost imposibile to get 94% desktop traffic now days.
yes another things that I took in consideration. but can't be also because I am using mostly popup and popunder traffic?

I never buy traffic and dont know exactly, but even with popunder i think is a big diference between desktop and mobile.

yes sure, and what about the referrals? Do you something about those fake websites that seems search engines but that then don't work at all? I don't understand how can I have those referrals if they are just fake websites

ok so I got another screen from maxvisits traffic and is about the technology and browser, I see almost 90% windows and those can be bot, the rest maybe real users?

ah good to know, I have written to their support but they continue telling me that I have to filter the bots and never gave me any direct answer regarding the ROI or the fake visitors

The traffic you are seeing is 100% fake. I dont know what software the website owner is using, but lets just say they are using supreme traffic bot (ive used it before) it works really good and there are options to set up a text file with hundreds of referrals. When you get a fake hit that actually counts the software will randomly pick one of the referrals from the list and assign it to the fake hit. If and when the gits actually count in your anylytics it will sbow that referral. Buying fake traffic is a no go my friend. Eventually google will see the pattern and close your account. Besides that the traffic does nothing for your websites seo and authority over time.

My humble opinion is that you are playing with fire. Google (adsense) is much smarter that anyone of us and soon or later they will catch you and you will lost your account. Now if this don't matter, then go ahead. In my case I never ever used paid traffic or clicks because I don't want to lose my adsense account.

thanks this is a really useful answer, I didn't know about supreme traffic bot and I'll check it out, just out of curiosity. for what concerns the buying fake I agree with you, I'll not buy anymore, is pretty useless ;)

How does that panel do the ROI thing? It is connected to your Adsense somehow?

I think the obvious thing here is Adsense stopped showing ads for your campaign....check that site, it's probably showing blank or PSA ads.

there is no bots that works with adsense, only manual human clicks can work.

the ROI you see is just a manual google spreadsheet a created
for what concerns the website is still running and with normal adsense banners on it

actually I saw the videos of these bots (I recorded several sessions) and I see that this bots simulate with the mouse a human being and so also the click (that is not generated with javascript but through browser)

Understood. Have you tried to access your site from a different location, like a internet cafe? Are the ads still there and running normally?
