PewDiePie, has lost contracts with Google and Disney after a wall street journal report pointed out anti-Semitic language and imagery in his videos.

Disney-owned Maker Studios was the first to sever ties with YouTube sensation Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg after he incorporated anti-Semitic jokes and Nazi references into several of his videos. The move comes after a Wall Street Journal review found that nine of Kjellberg's videos posted over the last six months featured imagery including swastikas, Nazi salutes, and shots of Hitler. Last month alone, the YouTube star showed a clip of a man dressed as Jesus Christ saying "Hitler did absolutely nothing wrong," and paid two Indian men to hold up a banner reading "Death to All Jews" via freelancing website Fiverr, but Kjellberg has argued that he is not serious in his use of the imagery.

Google-owned YouTube followed suit, cancelling the second season of Kjellberg’s reality show, Scare PewDiePie (which is produced by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman) and removing him from Google Preferred, an aggregate program that connects advertisers with YouTube’s most popular channels. Google had previously removed ads from some of the videos.

Yes, it was discussed before: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/disney-youtube-cut-ties-with-pewdiepie.916282/

Seriously, what did he expect and what took them so long? I don't really know the guy or his work more closely. I just know that i tried to watch a video of him once and i got brain cancer.

When you're a public figure, you keep your opinion (regarding to race, religion) to yourself, you don't make jokes about those things or else you deal with the consequences. Even if you are only joking, there will always be people, who won't appreciate those jokes and will happily take your head for them. He's a grown man, if he didn't see this coming from a mile, he's just an amateur with some money in the bank.

He probably just wants everyone talking about him like we are. He has made a ton of money and he doesn't need to work a day in his life again. He has a metric fuckton of cash and is just fucking around.

Maybe he was just fucking around. Maybe he has god complex and thought, he's untouchable.

If he wanted out and more fame, there would have been more elegant ways to handle that. I mean seriously, would you rather be remembered as a racist dickhead instead of just a plen dickhead? :) He could have just left, that would have made the news too. I still think, that he didn't really think this through.

Anyhow, even if he has a fuckton of money, it's an expensive lesson for him and a free reminder for everyone else.

The thing is, he doesn't give a fuck, he uploaded a video today where he said that he expected the consequences. He did this kind of stuff in the past but no one cared. Maker was under pressure from fake news organizations like WSJ, The Sun etc. so they dropped him. They don't want to ruin their reputation cause these news companies probably directly messaged them and asked about this, if they kept working with PDPie news would write shit about Maker, Disney, especially Disney since they have a bad history when it comes to anti-semitism which is serious. I mean look at the iDubbbzTV, white guy who uses the word "nigger" in every video and gets over 3 million of views on each one of them and he is still with Maker studios.

Of course. What would you say, if you were him? Would you admit, that you made a mistake or would you try to play it off not to look incompetent? If he expected the consequences, he's an even bigger fool than i initially thought. I don't believe for a second that all of a sudden he got tired of making money and pulled a stunt like this unless he snapped or something. He just would like to be seen more clever/cool than what he really is. I can tell you this without watching any video of him trying to explain himself. Looking at his channel now, he uploaded a video a week ago, where he's crying about losing subs calling out Youtube. Is that something what someone would do, who doesn't care about what happens to his channel/income?

I guess that other guy is not big enough to be able to offend people, who have the power to start something against him or he's simply too small, uninteresting to bother with and wouldn't be newsworthy, if anything would have happened to him, so no-one really cares. Also maybe there shouldn't be, but there's a difference between using the "n" word and being an anti-semite especially when it comes to Hollywood. There are enough stories about Hollywood being racist against black people. So there's that for another reason why the other guy can get away with what he does. Double standards.

Well, you have a lot to say about someone you don't even watch. Regarding him snapping, then I would say, yeah kind of. He has been like this for quite some time now and it seems like the fame is getting to him a bit, just compare him to the other gameplay comentators. No, he is probably not tired of making money but still willing to bite the hand that feeds him.

At least the biggest youtuber isn't a complete suckup. I think you should at least give his explaination video a go.

I am shocked guys.
I once watched a South Park episode about that guy but I thought it's a joke. Now I know this is for real.
That feeling when you discovered an internet mem by watching a TV series... Is smth strange.

If you walked around a normal workplace (office, factory, etc.) and did things like PewDiePie has done recently, you would be fired instantly. I don't understand why people are surprised. It doesn't matter if he was joking or not- you can't joke about one of the worst events in this world's history with an audience his size and get away with it. 99% of people (kids) who joke about the Holocaust would shit their pants if they actually did some research into what it was really like at a concentration camp- school doesn't show nearly enough of what went on.

He should have never changed his target audience to 13 year old friendless losers- it ruined his brand.

I'm personally partnered with Maker, and the decision to drop him didn't happen overnight.

Who cares , I can care less what is happening to other youtubers or in the youtube community .

Pewdiepie is dumb , that's it . Why would you even partner in the first place ? And what difference does it make to him if he is unpartnered , I don't get it .

If I were him, I would have never partnered with anyone in the first place. It is his channel too , and it is a comedy channel , he can do and say whatever he wants. All partnerships are nothing but a scam.
