Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing. Your question is way too broad, OP and you can "ask" Google the same.
You should mention your goal of getting traffic..Like want to get more sales? More clicks or revenue on your advertising platforms (for example if you are running a video site or something)..

I dont know jack shit about SEO (Wish i did) But i consider myself pretty decent with Social Media.

I assume you already have a niche for your blog, try to target it as much as possible, is it a music blog? Ok rock, pop or hip hop? Target target target!

Set up a Instagram & Twitter account, target other pages as much as you can and do follow/unfollow + likes. Try not to get banned!
 
For that you have to post rich and fresh content on your blog. And apart from this you have to promote you blog on various social media platforms to get instant traffic. Promote it on various forums to get relevant traffic. Or if you want more then just buy traffic through ads.
 
Focus on Organic traffic by targeting some keywords, writing good content, make a good social media presence.
