Need advice for Shopify + FB ads

Hello fellow BHW members,
It seems that the Shopify and FB ads method has been the talk of the town lately. I've been interested in giving it a go as I've seen a few people making decent money off this method. I tried a variation of this method months ago but due to being busy in school, I pretty much just gave up on it. Since my semester break is right around the corner, I'm gonna give this method another go and really invest some time and money into it. Before starting, I was hoping some of you guys that have some experience in this method could give me some insight. My main question is would it be more effective to target a specific niche (e.g. a whole site for Game of Thrones merchandise), or to target a broad niche/multiple niches. I want to make money not only on the "FREE" products, but on upsells too. Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated.

Well if you see the whole game as a "Shopify+Facebook Method", you miss a ton of opportunities. While FB is no doubt a good source of traffic, there is so much more to explore, like Google AdWords, Shopping Ads, Bing Ads, Affiliate Marketing, Twitter, IG, Reddit etc. etc. While FB can be a great source of traffic, I recommend to also check other traffic sources. In my biggest store so far I earned more than 200,000 in sales without spending a penny on FB for example.

@ Topic : I highly prefer niche stores. The reason is quite simple: its easier to advertise, easier to become an authority in, easier to build the design and store structure properly, easier to give beneficial content to this specific target group.
