Juicing Backlinks of 301 Redirects?

So let's say I've got a money site.

Let's say I've got a PBN of sites all linking to that money site.

Now let's say I found a expired domain/auction domain that had a great backlink profile.

While the backlinks are from great domains, the anchortext is pretty irrelevant to my money site, with a lot of mixed in branding from another domain.

A couple of questions:

• If I 301 the entire domain to a PBN on my network, that then links to my moneysite, what would be the best way to 'freshen' up those backlinks? I imagine a link from the same PBN would not only be overkill, but also be quite the footprint. However, I wouldn't mind having them rank for some low-hanging fruit keywords either.
• Would it be a bit to obvious to set up a bunch of custom redirect rules for the recently-purchased domain, using the acceptable anchor texts to redirect straight to the moeny site, while pointing all the other junk at my PBN, which then links to my money site? Anyone have any experience with that type of move getting flagged by G?

Asked the same a while ago and got mixed reviews. What I'm doing is just using them in PBN but if I find a relevant domain I'm going to 301 it. But only to a site I will be okay with something happening. I try to do most stuff as white as possible now with a bit of grey. Probably more cautious than needed but I don't really want to lo

I've preached this for a few weeks now. I avoided TF/CF for years, mostly because it was new and didn't like change. Finally, I caved because I was building a new PBN and wanted to use all metrics to sort what I've found. After having majestic account for a month, I realized it's worthless. It's easily manipulated, and I've come across numerous domains that have low metrics but great backlink profile.
I will now only use DA as a starting metric to filter out totally useless sites, then I manually inspect every domain, this takes hours on end but the domains I get out of it are great. DA is not perfect either, but DA atleast tells you there are some decent links comign in. You won't find a DA of 5 and quality incoming links. But you can find domains with TF 5 and incoming links. That's the difference.

@jon_xx_x Yeah, I feel the same way about DA, I usually use it as the first broad filter, to cut through the shite. I'm sure I miss a few, but that's just the name of the game.

I don't really do much blackhat—I mean that I consider black hat—anymore either. I use PBNs, but that's more just a loop hole.

I will probably try and set up a few tests with the 301 to see for myself, but hopefully someone with some more experience will chime in as well.
