Keyword In Both Domain And Post Titles?

I have a forum, let's call it keywordforum.com. While setting up the forum sections would it be better for me to have them as "Keyword News" "Keyword Videos" which would result in keywordforum.com/forum/keyword-news/name-of-post or would it be better to simple name them "News" and "Videos" so I wind up with keywordforum.com/forum/news/name-of-post?

why? you dont need .com/forum because forum is already in your domain.
you dont need .com/keyword-news because your keyword is already in your domain.
Keep it simple. 1 keyword and 1 forum in your domain is enough.

That's what I figured. As for removing /forum though, I don't know that I can with xenforo. I'll see if there's a solution.

I think its going to be cleaner if you do not use it in the URL. You can still use the keyword in the h1/title tags however.

Having keyword in url is very important. Must be done. If you can't remove the .com/forum - I think its ok. Don't stress too much about it. The important part is to have it in url at least once.

Was true many years ago, but today you can perfectly rank competitive keywords without having them in the URL. Keyword domains are heavily overrated in terms of their effect on rankings, which is constantly diminishing. Even worse, triggering overoptimization filters for EMDs or PMDs is a lot easier since there are no brand links for these domain types.

You go to a forum, you want to see the keyword in there. You dont want to go to a website that just says domain.com/news - thats just stupid. You want it to have the keyword in there. eg this thread is in the seo thread, its .com/seo

You show me a site that doesnt have keyword in the url, and I can show you many more that have keyword in url.

Keywords are not overrated. You should stop spreading rumours. Google indexes your site based on relevancy of your website. It needs the url to help decide what your website is about.

You should go back to seo school, because you overthink too much.

Go and prove yourself. You go and show me a keyword, and tell me there's no keyword in their domain.
